Abstract: A method of wireless communication by a receiving device includes receiving a message by the receiving device from a transmitting device. The method further includes identifying a type of the message based on a message header of the message. The message header includes an identifier field of a determined length. The identifier field includes an identifier associated with the type of the message. The identifier is selected from a set of identifier values including one or more identifier values that fully identify the type of the message and one or more extension field inclusion values that indicate an inclusion of an extension field of the identifier field.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for uplink switching for enhanced mobility. In some aspects, this disclosure provides techniques for potentially reducing or eliminating service interruptions experienced during a handover from a source cell to a target cell. Additionally, this disclosure provides techniques for potentially simplifying or improving uplink communications while a UE is connected to both the source cell and the target cell during the handover. This disclosure further provides techniques for potentially reducing UE power consumption or improving uplink resource utilization during a handover from a source cell to a target cell while a UE is connected to both the source cell and the target cell during the handover.

Abstract: In an aspect, a network supporting a number of client devices includes a network device that generates a context for a client device. The client device context may include network state information for the client device that enables the network to communicate with the client device. The client device may obtain, from a network device that serves a first service area of the network, information that includes a first client device context. The client device may enter a second service area of the network served by a second network device. Instead of performing a service area update procedure with the network, the client device may transmit a packet in the different service area with the information that includes the client device context. The client device may receive a service relocation message including information associated with the different network device in response to the transmission.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a processor-readable storage medium for wireless communication are provided. A transmitter transmits data packets to a receiver, encodes the data packets to generate parity packets, stores the parity packets in a retransmission buffer, receives information from the receiver indicating that a data packet was not correctly decoded, and transmits to the receiver the parity packets stored in the retransmission buffer for recovering the data packet not correctly decoded without retransmitting the data packet not correctly decoded. The transmitter may further retransmit to the receiver the parity packets. The transmitted data packets may be encoded at a medium access control (MAC) layer of the transmitter. The retransmission buffer may be located at a radio link control (RLC) layer or a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer of the transmitter. A reordering buffer at the receiver may be located at the RLC layer or PDCP layer.
