Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques switching a communication link for wireless systems with multiple parents, such as an Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) network or other type of network. In some cases, a node determines a partition of a number of desired guard symbols between a first parent node and a second parent node; sends, to the first parent node and to the second parent node, at least one indication of a partitioned number of the desired guard symbols for switching between the first parent node and the second parent node; receives at least one indication of a number of provided guard symbols from the first and second parent nodes; and switches a communication link from the first parent node to the second parent node in accordance with the at least one indication of provided guard symbols by the first parent node and the second parent node.

Abstract: Aspects relate to enhancing the provision of gaps at transitions between resources allocated for communication on access links and resources allocated for communication on backhaul links. In some examples, a child integrated access backhaul network (IAB) node may transmit a message to a parent IAB node requesting a number of guard symbols to provide a gap at transitions. In some examples, the parent IAB node may transmit the number of guard symbols provided at transitions to the child IAB node. The parent IAB node, child IAB node, and/or an IAB donor node central unit may further identify a subcarrier spacing associated with the number of guard symbols.

Abstract: Aspects provide for autonomous adjustment of the uplink and downlink transmission timing in wireless communication networks. A radio access network (RAN) entity (e.g., a scheduling entity, such as a base station or parent integrated access backhaul (IAB) node, or a centralized network node, such as an IAB donor node central unit) may provide support to a scheduled entity (e.g., a user equipment (UE) or child IAB node) to operate in an autonomous time adjustment (ATA) mode to autonomously adjust its uplink transmission timing to compensate for the change in downlink reception timing. The RAN entity may generate ATA mode information related to the ATA mode for the scheduled entity and transit the ATA mode information to the scheduled entity.

SIGNALING TO SUPPORT MOBILE INTEGRATED ACCESS AND BACKHAUL

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may receive mobility state information associated with an integrated access backhaul (IAB) node. The mobility state information may include information associated with at least one of: a level of mobility of the IAB node, or a change in mobility of the IAB node. The wireless communication device may perform an operation based at least in part on the mobility state information associated with the IAB node. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determine that mobility state information associated with an IAB node is to be transmitted, and may transmit the mobility state information associated with the IAB node based at least in part on the determination. Numerous other aspects are provided.

EXTENDED SLOT AGGREGATION SCHEDULING IN IAB NETWORK

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques of allocating time resources (or slots) based on a flexible pattern that allows allocation of a set of non-continuous time slots resources in an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) system. In one example, the aggregation pattern may be indicated via a single downlink control information (DCI) message that carries explicit information regarding non-continuous time slot allocation. Features of the present disclosure may also include techniques to allow for early termination of transmission between the first node and the second node when the receiver (e.g., second node) successfully receives the data channel before the end of aggregated transmission. In such situation, the first node and the second node may cease transmission after reception of an acknowledgement (ACK) message that may allow the second node to utilize the subsequent time slots for communication with its own children on the next hop (e.g., third node).

Abstract: In some aspects, a wireless node in a wireless multi-hop network may receive, from a central unit in the wireless multi-hop network, a configuration indicating that a first wireless interface between the wireless node and a first parent node of the wireless node is to be used for a first traffic type, and that a second wireless interface between the wireless node and a second parent node of the wireless node is to be used for a second traffic type; configure a first connection with the first parent node via the first wireless interface and a second connection with the second parent node via the second wireless interface based at least in part on the configuration; and transmit or receive a communication using the first connection or the second connection based at least in part on a traffic type of the communication.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a central unit (CU) may receive, from a distributed unit (DU), a first DU configuration. The CU may transmit to the DU, a second DU configuration to change a DU configuration from the first DU configuration to the second DU configuration, the first DU configuration being different from the second DU configuration. The DU may override the first DU configuration to communicate in accordance with the second DU configuration. Numerous other aspects are provided.
