Abstract:
A step-in, releasable cross country binding mechanism allowing rotational and/or forward release of the binding toe piece and skier from the ski. A cleat, mounted to the bottom of a binding toe pieces is relesably retained by spring loaded structure located between a ski boot and ski. A step-in heel piece is connected to the toe piece by a cable.
Abstract:
A telemark ski boot including a shell of plastic material and a sole is provided. The shell is provided with a pair of lateral walls and a flexible portion extending transversely to the shell in the metatarsus area from one side to the other of the sole. The shell includes a pair of stiffening elements which extend along respective lateral walls between an intermediate portion of the sole in proximity with the flexible portion and a rear portion of the shell.
Abstract:
A shell for sports shoes, particularly for Telemark skiing, which comprises a sole and a lateral surface which surrounds the foot of the user. A frame is rigidly coupled internally to the shell and has a foot resting surface and a toe cup which partially extends over the upper metatarsal region. On the resting surface and on the toe cup there are, respectively, at least one first transverse opening, arranged below the metatarsal region, and at least one second transverse opening, which lies above the metatarsal region. A transverse bridge, arranged in the region that lies to the rear of the metatarsus, is thus formed at the toe cup. The resulting shell is therefore highly flexible but torsionally rigid, making it easier for the user to ski.
Abstract:
There are two assemblies in the binding, a harness assembly and an attachment assembly. The harness assembly attaches to a ski boot and has a toe fitting which fits over the toe of the boot and has a flat metal plate contacting the toe portion of the sole of the boot. Four sharp pointed posts extend downward from the plate. Each post has a groove near its base, perpendicular to the axis of the post. The attachment assembly attaches to the ski and has latch bars which engage the grooves in the posts to attach the attachment assembly and ski to the harness and ski boot. One latch bar is spring loaded toward the other and as the posts are inserted onto the attachment assembly the spring loaded bar is moved to allow the posts to pass. When the posts are fully inserted the spring loaded bar moves to capture the posts. There is a lever operated cam at the forward end of the attachment assembly which is used to separate the latch bars to enable detaching the ski from the harness. With the ski and attachment assembly removed, the sharp posts serve the crampon function.
Abstract:
A skiboard system is provided. The system includes a skiboard and left and right loose heel binding secured to the skiboard. The skiboard has a longitudinal axis, a central portion and an upward curving front shovel area. The central portion includes side edges and a central waist. The side edges have concave curvatures of radius and extend between front and rear ends of the central portion so that the concave curvatures of the side edges form the central waist. The central portion further includes a longitudinal camber, which elevates the waist. The upward curving front shovel area has a front tip and is formed by the front end of the central portion. The left and right loose heel bindings are secured to the central portion substantially parallel to each other on opposite sides of the waist at an acute angle less than 35 degrees from the longitudinal axis. Furthermore, the bindings are angled to the right of the longitudinal axis when the left binding is in front of the waist and the bindings are angled to the left of the longitudinal axis when said right binding is secured in front of the waist.
Abstract:
A release binding for skis is usable both for touring or cross-country and downhill runs. It comprises a touring plate which has a front end portion which is pivotally mounted at its front end for movement about a horizontal axis which extends transverse to the longitudinal axis of the ski. The touring plate also includes a rear portion which is connected through a length adjustment mechanism to a heel holder portion. A sole holder is connected to the front end of the touring plate and it carries a blocking part which is seated on the touring plate and it includes an upstanding part adjacent its front end which is disposed above the horizontal pivotal axis of the touring plate which bears against a blocking element which is mounted on the ski ahead of the touring plate and is biased by a spring against the blocking part. When the touring plate is pivoted upwardly during a cross-country run, the blocking element is displaced rearwardly against the biasing force of the spring.
Abstract:
The invention is a device for removably blocking a central-front part of a ski boot to a ski platform for actuating a Telemark technique. The boot sole (51) forms, at a bottom thereof, two lateral edges, internal and external (52A, 52B). A plate (1) is blockable to the ski platform, a blocking device (17, 18) constrained to the plate, which bear at least two ratchets. The ratchets are associated with the bottom of the boot supported by the plate, to corresponding edges of the internal edge (52A) and external edge (52B). An activator (16, 24) for the blocking device is supported by the plate, defining two configurations of the blocking device, respectively inoperative (11), with a disengagement of the ratchets from the corresponding edges (52A, 52B) and operative (12), with a blocking of the two edges against the plate (1).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a ski binding (1) for fastening a ski boot, comprising a front retainer (2); a rear retainer (3); a tensioning mechanism (20) acting between the front and the rear retainer whereby the ski boot can be clamped between the front (2) and the rear (3) retainer in such a way as to allow the heel to be lifted freely; a front sole support device (6) arranged at or by the front retainer (2), the front sole support device being pivotal about the horizontal transverse axis (7) relative to the front retainer (2); and a locking element (8) adapted to fix the front sole support device (6); wherein the locking element (8) is adapted to lift the front sole support device (6) into contact with the front part of the ski boot such that the front sole support device (6) is fixed between the locking element (8) and the front part of the ski boot.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a ski binding (1) with ski brake (50), particularly a touring and telemark binding, comprising a front retaining element (11) and a rear retaining element (15) and also a tensioning device (25) designed to connect the front and rear retaining elements such that they can be locked to a ski boot (5), the front retaining element (1 1), rear retaining element (15) and the tensioning device (25) being designed to rotate upward and forward about an axis of rotation (59) with an opening angle (a) relative to a ski, wherein the ski brake (50) is disposed between an upper surface of the ski and the assembly consisting of front retaining element (11), rear retaining mechanism (15) and the tensioning devices (25), wherein the assembly consisting of front retaining element (11), rear retaining element (15) and tensioning device (25) comprises a plate or a piece (17) that is designed to receive a front section (55) of the ski brake (50), the ski brake (1) being inactive when the front section (55) is received in the opening (17a) and where the ski brake (1) is activated when the front section (55) is not received in the opening (17a), wherein the plate or piece (17) is designed to bear against the underside of and rotate together with the ski boot (5) sole (7).
