Abstract: A method of operating a vehicle feeding material to a road finishing machine. The vehicle includes a vehicle retarding system controllable to retard the vehicle, and processing circuitry coupled to the vehicle retarding system. The method includes determining, by the processing circuitry, a slope inclination of a downward sloping road surface to be paved by the road finishing machine; determining, by the processing circuitry, a deceleration level of the vehicle for operating the vehicle at the downward sloping road surface while obtaining a mechanical connection between the vehicle and the road finishing machine when the road finishing machine paves the downward sloping road surface; determining, by the processing circuitry, a retardation power level of the vehicle retarding system based on the slope inclination of the downward sloping road surface for obtaining the deceleration level; and controlling, by the processing circuitry, the vehicle retarding system to apply the retardation power level for obtaining the deceleration level.

Abstract: The invention provides a method for controlling braking of a vehicle (1) driving along a downhill portion of a road, the vehicle comprising a propulsion arrangement (2, 3), for the propulsion of the vehicle, the method comprising dividing the road portion into a plurality of sections (RS0-RS2), the sections comprising a first section (RS1), and a second section (RS2) following, in the direction of travel of the vehicle, immediately upon the first section (RS1), determining, for the road portion, a road portion control strategy, with a condition that braking on the road portion is done at least partly by means of the propulsion arrangement (2, 3), wherein determining the road portion control strategy comprises determining a speed (SD21), on the second section (RS2), with an aim to minimize the time travelled on the second section, and/or, where the propulsion arrangement comprises an internal combustion engine (2), and a gearbox (3), determining a gear selection (GS2) on the second section (RS2), with an aim to minimize the time travelled on the second section, and wherein determining the road portion control strategy comprises determining, for the first section (RS1), a first section control strategy, with an aim to minimize the time travelled on the first section, and with an aim to provide a vehicle speed at the end of the first section (RS1) which is the same as said determined speed (SD21) on the second section (RS2), and/or to provide a gear selection at the end of the first section which is the same as said determined gear selection (GS2) on the second section (RS2), the method further comprising controlling the vehicle (1) according to the determined road portion control strategy.

Abstract: A vehicular breaking force control system that includes a control device including a processor that acquires a plurality of longitudinal accelerations from a driving assistance system, and calculates a driving/braking request when the vehicle is in a coasting state in which an acceleration operation or a deceleration operation are not performed during running of the vehicle. The processor further acquires a driving force lower limit set for a powertrain actuator having a set gear ratio, and distributes the driving/braking request to at least one of (i) a powertrain system including the powertrain actuator and (ii) a brake system including a brake actuator. The driving/braking request is distributed to the at least one of the powertrain system and the brake system based on the acquired driving force lower limit.

In one embodiment, an example method may include determining, by an adaptive regeneration system, that an electric vehicle is decelerating, determining an output voltage of a power source at the electric vehicle, determining that a voltage potential of a battery system at the electric vehicle is greater than the output voltage, and causing the voltage potential of the battery system to be modified to a value equal to or less than the output voltage.

Abstract: A method for operating a motor vehicle, which is equipped with a plurality of wheels and with a plurality of electric machines. Each electric machine can be coupled to at least one wheel and be operated in a plurality of operating modes. Abstract: A vehicle speed control system for a vehicle having a plurality of wheels, the vehicle speed control system comprising one or more electronic control units configured to carry out a method that includes applying torque to at least one of the plurality of wheels, detecting a slip event between any one or more of the wheels and the ground over which the vehicle is travelling when the vehicle is in motion and providing a slip detection output signal in the event thereof. The method carried out by the one or more electronic control units further includes receiving a user input of a target speed at which the vehicle is intended to travel and maintaining the vehicle at the target speed independently of the slip detection output signal by adjusting the amount of torque applied to the at least one of the plurality of wheels.

The remote database may be configured to determine a status of the components of the vehicle and provide the updated operational parameters to keep software used by the vehicle to a latest version.
