Abstract:
A powered operator for sliding plug doors mounted on a movable carriage mounted overhead of an opening in the side wall of a transit vehicle, said doors including a single electric prime mover driving dual helical drives, each operating a door hanger attached to a single door panel over and away from said opening and for moving said carriage out of said side wall pocket. Door hangers used provide controlled deflection of door panels when in a fully open position. Drive linkages lock door panels when in a plugged position. The operator also provides guidance for the lower edge of said door panels during plugging and unplugging operations. Control elements and a central controller provides sequential door panel movement into and out of a pocket in the transit car side wall.
Abstract:
A gate opening and closing apparatus, typically referred to as a "gate operator" and which automatically moves a gate, such as a swinging gate between opened and closed positions. The gate operator of the invention employs a power unit, such as an electrically motor driven power unit which rotates a power arm. A crank arm is releasably connected to the power arm and movable therewith. In addition, the crank arm is, in turn, connected to a connecting arm which has one end connected to the gate for movement of the gate. The invention relies upon the use of a swing movement control mechanism in place of stop rings which were previously used to control the limits of movement of the gate. The swing movement control mechanism comprises a swing movement control plate shiftable along the crank arm so that the connecting arm which is also pivoted on the swing movement control plate can be connected to a gate having a desired swing or so-called "throw". The swing movement control mechanism includes an upstanding toggle which controls limit of movement of the connecting arm and also includes a pair of downwardly projecting flanges which also limits the movement of the connecting arm.
Abstract:
A window, particularly for installation in an inclined roof surface, comprising a main frame and a frame hinged to the top thereof as well as a frame lifting arm inserted between the main frame and the frame, the arm having one end pivotally connected with a lateral member of the main frame or the frame and its other end pivotally connected with a slide shoe which in a longitudinally displaceable manner is connected with the corresponding lateral member of the main frame or the frame, respectively. The slide shoe is associated with a pre-stressed lifting spring, as a first coupling first coupling member on the slide shoe is adapted to engage with a second coupling member connected with the lifting spring when installing the window. Between the slide shoe and the lifting spring is an auxiliary spring, the pre-stressing of which can be adjusted in dependence on the roof inclination, by a manually operated adjusting element, for supplementing the spring force from the lifting spring within a given range of the opening angle of the window. The auxiliary spring can be accommodated in a spring box between an abutment which is stationary with respect to the spring box and an abutment which is movable along the spring box.
Abstract:
A door system of the swivel-sliding type for use in a vehicle, suitable in particular for a vehicle for public transport, the door system comprising at least one door panel; suspension means for the at least one door panel, which comprise a telescopic guide; and a drive system for the at least one door panel, wherein the drive system comprises at least one piston-cylinder assembly of which a first movable part is connected to the telescopic guide via a system of arms and rods so as to cause the telescopic guide in operation to perform a plugging movement, while a second part of the piston-cylinder assembly is provided with a projection extending into a track having a first section extending substantially transverse to the at least one door panel and an adjoining section extending substantially parallel to the telescopic guide, the projection forming a part of a pantograph construction mounted between a fixed pivot point and a point of attachment on the door panel, said pantograph construction transmitting the movement of the projection to the door.
Abstract:
An opening device, for a cooling device having a door assembly, includes a mounting base, which can be mounted on provided securing units for a door hinge of the cooling device, and a functional unit having an ejection element, which can be moved out in an electrically controlled manner. The mounting base has contacts and the functional unit has counter contacts. The contacts and the counter contacts contact one another when the functional unit is secured on the mounting base in order to supply the functional unit with current.
Abstract:
A door system having a linkage assembly with a drive arm and an attendant arm coupled at the ends through a gear joint. The gear joint has drive teeth on an end of the drive arm and attendant teeth on an end of the attendant arm. The drive arm is coupled to a motor in the door system that is coupled to a door, or a door frame or a wall. The attendant arm is coupled to the opposite of the door, or the door frame or the wall to which the door system is coupled. When the door system is installed on the push side or the pull side of the door the drive arm and the attendant arm are parallel with the door and the upper door frame. During operation the motor transfers the torque from the motor through the gear joint to open the door.
Abstract:
An articulated hinge assembly for connecting a door to a fuselage of an aircraft includes an articulated hinge arm having a first hinge member pivotably coupled to a second hinge member at an elbow. A fuselage fitting is pivotably coupled to a fuselage bracket and a door fitting is pivotably coupled to a door bracket of the door. The articulated hinge arm is movable from a collapsed position to an expanded position to move the door from a door closed position to a door open position. The articulated hinge assembly includes a linkage assembly coupled to the articulated hinge arm, the fuselage fitting and the door fitting controlling movement of the first hinge member and the second hinge member relative to each other and relative to the fuselage fitting. The linkage assembly controls positioning of the door.
Abstract:
A trailer door system that comprises at least one trailer door assembly operably engaged with the trailer; and at least one driving assembly operably engaged with the trailer and the at least one trailer door assembly. The at least one driving assembly further comprises an expansion assembly operably engaged with the at least one trailer door assembly. The at least one driving assembly further comprises a rotary actuator operably engaged with the expansion assembly, wherein the rotary actuator is configured to transition the expansion assembly between a collapsed position and an expanded position for pivoting the at least one trailer door assembly between a closed position and an opened position about an axis parallel to a vertical axis defined by the trailer. A trailer monitoring system may be included with the trailer door system for automating the state of the trailer during a towing operation.
Abstract:
Loading, shifting, and staging objects in automated or semi-automated fashion including systems, methods, and apparatuses for the same. The embodiments hereof enable automated and/or semi-automated loading, shifting, organizing, staging, and accessing of objects in different environments, e.g., those associated with a logistics network operation. For example, one such environment is a vehicle. In one aspect, a loading mechanism is used to load objects into a storage space of the vehicle. In another aspect, a shifting mechanism is used to shift objects in a storage space of the vehicle. In another aspect, a door assembly allows for automated opening and closing of a door into a storage space of a vehicle. In addition, methods of manufacturing and using the same are provided.
