    Abstract: As engines are developing more specific power than earlier versions, the engines move more severely in the engine compartment during torque changes than prior engines. A more robust system to retain engine ducts and tubes is desired, particularly for situations where one end of the duct is mounted to a sub-component in the engine compartment and another end to the engine. A bracketing system for a powerplant for a vehicle has an engine mounted to a vehicle frame via engine mounts, an air cleaner mounted to the vehicle frame, a duct fluidly coupling the air cleaner with the engine, a first bracket coupled to and wrapped around a portion of an engine component, and a second bracket coupled to the first bracket. The first bracket has an orifice for the tie straps to secure the engine coolant tubes and the second bracket is curved to accept the duct.

    Abstract: An air cleaner of an internal combustion engine has a housing with a slide-in opening and receives a slide-in filter element through this opening. A cover element closes off the slide-in opening. The cover element has a snap element for fixing the cover element at the housing. The cover element has a contact face defining a first main plane. A sealing is disposed between the filter element and the housing and seals between filter element and housing. A sealing face provided at the housing interacts with the sealing and defines a second main plane. The housing has a contact face abutting the contact face of the cover element in the closing state of the cover element. An angle between the second main plane of the sealing face of the housing and the first main plane of the contact face of the cover element is different from 90°.

    Abstract: A vehicular air cleaner may include: a body having an air inlet port; a cover coupled to a body and having an air outlet port; an element inserted into or drawn from the body and the cover through a access port formed in one side of the body and the cover; a positioning assembly rotatably coupled to a lower portion of the element and vertically moving the element by rotation; and an element cover coupled to the body and the cover to prevent the element from being separated from the access port, wherein the positioning assembly includes driving shafts each fitted with fixing brackets formed on a flange along a side direction of the element, and a driven shaft fitted with a fixing bracket formed on a flange along a front side of the element and having ends rotatably engaged with a pair of driving shafts.

    Abstract: A filter element is provided according to the present invention. The filter element includes: (a) a media pack arrangement having first and second opposite ends, said media pack arrangement comprising: (i) an inner liner defining a safety central open volume; (ii) a multilayer laminate media construction circumscribing the inner liner and having a first end and a second end, wherein the multilayer laminate media construction comprises: (A) a filtration media layer arranged in a waved configuration, wherein the filtration media layer has a first side and a second side; (B) a first fibrous support layer adjacent the first side of the filtration media layer arranged in the waved configuration; (b) a first end cap at the first end of the media pack arrangement; said first end cap having a central aperture in flow communication with said safety central open volume; and (c) a second end cap at the second end of the media pack arrangement; said second end cap being a closed end cap.
