Abstract: An air-boom spreader has a hopper for containing particulate material, a metering device having a plurality of sluices, a plurality of outlets transversely spaced-apart on a boom in a direction perpendicular to the direction of travel of the spreader, and a plurality of air lines connecting the plurality of sluices to the plurality of outlets for conveying the particulate material in an air stream from the plurality of sluices to the plurality of outlets. The spreader has more than twice as many outlets as sluices, and the plurality of outlets has an innermost outlet, an outermost outlet and at least three other outlets between the innermost outlet and the outermost outlet whereby each of the innermost outlet and the outermost outlet are supplied with half as much of the particulate material as each of the at least three other outlets.

Abstract: An apparatus for separating grains of seed or fertilizer includes a separating device having a housing with a housing base for mounting on an agricultural machine. A releasable housing cover is arranged on the housing base in a releasable manner. A grain sump receives the grains introduced into the housing interior to be separated out. A rotatable separating disc having openings is positioned in the housing interior. An overpressure region is formable in the housing cover on a front side of the separating disc during operation, such that a flow can form from the overpressure region through the openings to the rear side of the disc and grains separated can be localized near the openings. A grain transfer device includes a feed, a wall bushing and an outlet, wherein the separated grains can be introduced through the feed into the bushing and discharged from the housing interior through the bushing.

Abstract: A purging system for a multiple variety seed meter of a multi-variety planter. The purging system includes seed return valves that may be arranged for receiving seed that was removed from the seed meter. The seed return valves return the removed seed into corresponding appropriate seed storage compartments to allow a new seed variety to be delivered to the seed meter while reducing seed variety mixing in the seed meter. A pipe with a purge passage may extend from the seed meter to a purging hose that delivers the removed seed to the seed return valve(s). Each seed return valve may be a vacuum-actuated piston airlock valve assembly with a valve plunger that reciprocates to define seed collecting and releasing states of the valve.
