Abstract: The invention relates to a lid for a paint stirring machine.This lid is provided with a conventional sealing gaiter (13) on the stirrer rod (5) bearing on the hub (15) of the lid via its circular upper collar (19). Abstract: A barrel plating apparatus in which a barrel accommodating a large number of works is successively soaked in a plurality of baths filled with treatment liquid, the barrel comprising a peripheral wall, a pair of end walls at opposite ends of the peripherial wall, an opening provided at a central portion of the end wall without a cover or a cap, and a space for accommodating the works which is formed by a space lower than the opening inside the barrel when the central longitudinal axis of the barrel is horizontal. Abstract: In a pivoted drum, e.g., a dragee coating drum for coating granular surfaces, a pivoted nozzle carrier (26b) projects along the drum axis, while forming an annular chamber (57), from which extends a multitude of similarly arranged elbows (64) with spray nozzles (65). A casing tube (22) surrounding the nozzle arrangement forms a lid (73) which, when in operating position, is opened by the spray nozzles, so that a spray can be sprayed into the coating chamber outside the casing tube (22). When in cleansing position (65'), the spraying device is completely sealed off to the outside and can be thoroughly rinsed with a cleansing agent which is drained off inside the casing tube (22) by the gutter (69) and the drain pipe (71). Abstract: A plating barrel is constructed of a perforated cylindrical side section clamped between a pair of end plates. The end plates are provided with positioning grooves that receive edge portions of the side section. Each end plate includes a plurality of concentric grooves so that the same end plates may be used with side sections of different diameters. The barrel is rotatably mounted on a support disposed within a seamless tank containing a plating bath. The support has adjustable upstanding arms which rotatably support the barrel and permit the height thereof to be adjusted for controlling the extent to which the barrel is immersed in the plating bath, with such adjustment being dictated in part by the extent of the areas to be plated and the number of work pieces in the barrel.

Abstract: Tablets are coated by tumbling a batch of tablets in a rotating coating pan and subjecting the tablets while they are in the pan to a plurality of treatment steps. Each of these treatment steps consists of a plurality of treatment cycles each including a dosing period in which a measured quantity of tablet coating liquid is introduced into the pan, a drying period in which drying air is supplied to the interior of the pan and an intermediate mixing period during which the tablets tumble in contact with the already introduced coating liquid for a pre-set time and no drying air is supplied to the pan. The temperature of the batch of tablets being coating in the coating pan is sensed by a sensor. The temperature of the batch of tablets at the end of a pre-set time interval from the commencement of the drying period is stored in a memory device as a reference temperature. Whenever during any one cycle there is a preselected difference between the sensed temperature of tablets in the pan and the reference temperature stored in the memory devices a signal is produced. This signal is utilized to terminate the drying period of such cycle and to initiate the dosing period of the next cycle.

Abstract: Objects moving through a coating chamber are coated with particles, flakes or fibres in a uniform manner as a result of the particles, flakes or fibres being fed to the coating chamber by a conveying system which includes a vibrating feeder box, a gravity duct, a vibrating conveyor channel, a T-shaped distributor body and a transducer located below the distributor body. The transducer includes insulated wires on the bottom leg thereof that convey an alternating current and electrodes which are capable of carrying a direct current to the moving objects to be coated which are themselves grounded. When the particles, flakes or fibres drop from the T-shaped distributor body to the vicinity of the transducer they become influenced by the alternating electrostatic field and rise up in swirls. They then become influenced by the direct electrostatic field between the electrodes and the objects to be coated and they move along the lines of flux to coat the objects uniformly.
