Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a coating film formation process which enables the formation of a coating film excellent in the metal-tone aesthetic appearance and the invisibility of aluminum flakes. As a means of achieving this object, the coating film formation process according to the present invention is a coating film formation process comprising the steps of: coating a solvent type base coat paint (B1) onto a substrate to thus form a coating film (b1) thereon; and then, after the nonvolatile component content of the coating film (b1) has reached not lower than 40 weight %, coating a shining-material-containing aqueous base coat paint (B2) onto the coating film (b1) to thus form a coating film (b2) thereon; and then, after the nonvolatile component content of the coating film (b2) has reached not lower than 70 weight %, coating a top clear paint onto the coating film (b2) to thus form a clear coating film thereon; and thereafter carrying out simultaneous baking of the formed three layers of coating films; with the process being characterized in that, as the shining-material-containing aqueous base coat paint (B2), there is used a paint which contains a rheology control agent of 0.5 to 6.0 phr in nonvolatile component weight relative to the resin's solid components and has a paint's nonvolatile component content of 10 to 20 weight % and a Ti value of not less than 3.0.

Abstract:
A wire guide includes a mandrel that has a proximal portion and a distal portion. A first coating with a low coefficient of friction is disposed on the proximal portion of the mandrel. A second coating is disposed on the distal portion of the mandrel, where the second coating provides a sub-structure. A third coating is disposed on the second coating, where the third coating comprises a surface that allows for easy maneuverability of the wire guide. The first coating on the proximal portion provides enough lubricity to keep the wire guide from becoming bound or stuck in a catheter or medical device while still allowing a user to have a good grip of the wire guide. The second coating on the distal portion provides lubricity for the wire guide, which allows the user to easily maneuver the wire guide through a vascular anatomy.
Abstract:
An apparatus, method of producing, method of operation and method of construction for producing a decoratively colored finish ground wood material includes providing a hopper adjacent a conveyor mechanism for maintaining and dispensing dry colorant onto a primary ground wood material. Further, providing and arranging a liquid dispensing mechanism adjacent an opening of a receptacle of a communition apparatus and dispensing liquid to wet the coated primary ground wood material. Lastly, grinding the wetted primary ground wood material with the comminution apparatus into a finish ground material of a lesser size than the primary ground wood material.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of coating the surface of an inorganic powder comprising; (a) providing an alcohol solution of an alcohol-soluble metal salt and an alcohol solution of an amine compound; and (b) mixing and stirring the two alcohol solutions with an inorganic powder and water, thereby coating the surface of the inorganic powder with a metal hydroxide produced from the alcohol-soluble metal salt. The inorganic powders coated with metal oxide manufactured according to the present invention exist independently without substantial agglomeration, and the metal oxide coating is deposited substantially only on the surface of the inorganic powder with uniform thickness without substantial clustering among the inorganic powders. Consequently, when a Ni electrode layer is prepared using the titanium oxide coated Ni powders manufactured according to the present invention, not only quality but also yield of MLCC can be improved.
Abstract:
A method for coating a particulate material for pharmaceutical, cosmeceutical, nutriceutical or cosmetic use or for use in food or food stuff, the coating being performed in a coating equipment, which comprises a coating chamber having i) means for supply of a coating composition, and ii) means for supply of inlet air to provide a flow of inlet air, the method comprises i) loading uncoated or pre-coated particulate material into the coating chamber, ii) providing a flow of inlet air that has been adjusted so that the humidity of the air in the coating chamber ensures that unwanted agglomeration of the particulate material and/or adherence to the coating equipment are substantially reduced or avoided during the coating process, and iii) spraying on the particulate material a coating composition comprising a solvent that contains at least about 70% v/v of one or more organic solvents and at the most about 30% v/v of an aqueous medium, to obtain coated particulate material containing at the most about 20% w/w agglomerates. The method is especially suitable in order to enable coating by means of an organic solvent based coating composition and avoids generally observed problems with respect to static electricity, adherence and formation of agglomerates.
Abstract:
A method of forming a wear-resistant reinforcing coating on a substrate, such as concrete, wood, metal or particulate. A reinforcing fiber mat is placed on the substrate and a liquid matrix material is mixed with small colored stones. The mixture of matrix material and stones is poured onto the mat, and the liquid wets the mat and contacts the substrate. After curing, a composite coating is formed with stones as the wearing surface. A membrane can be interposed between the substrate and the reinforcing coating to prevent adhesion and nullstarvingnull of the mat.
