Abstract:
There is disclosed a film composition useful for reducing light glare especially adapted for use in connection with cathode-ray tube or other monitor screens which is formed from a colloidal suspension from between ten percent to thirty percent by weight of an aliphatic thermoplastic urethane resin dissolved in a blend of water, N-methylpyrrolidone and amines, mixed with between seventy percent and ninety percent by weight of Denatured Ethyl Alcohol (190 proof). The colloidal suspension is admixed with an aerosol propellant under pressure, and is deposited on a monitor screen by aerosol deposition to create a film having a thickness of between 0.5 mil and 2 mil. The deposited film dries immediately, and functions to dramatically reduce the glare of light reflecting from the screen monitor.
Abstract:
A cathode-ray tube display device wherein a resistance material, e.g. graphite, is provided on each of a funnel portion, a cone portion and a neck portion of a cathode-ray tube, and a deflecting coil unit is mounted to the neck portion through an insulator, to shield an alternating electric field generated from the deflecting coil unit.
Abstract:
In a color cathode ray tube, a panel having a single faceplate is coupled to a plurality of necks through a plurality of funnels, respectively. A plurality of electron gun assemblies are received in necks and a plurality of deflection units are mounted around the funnels, respectively. A screen is formed on an inner surface of faceplate and has a plurality of continuous segment regions each of which is scanned with the electron beams emitted from the corresponding electron gun assembly and deflected by the corresponding deflection unit. A shadow mask is so supported in the panel as to face the faceplate. The electron gun assemblies adjacent each other so arranged as to have a relative distance GS between the central axis thereof:GS=m.multidot.SG[(n-1)Ph+d]/Phwhere SG is a relative distance on the deflection plane, between the electron beams emitted from each of said electron gun assembly, d is a distance between predetermined effective apertures of the shadow mask through which the predetermined electron beams pass, the predetermined electron beams landing on endmost adjacent effective phosphor elements in each two adjacent ones of said segment regions, and m and n are integers, respectively.

A color image display device comprises an optical sectioning plate interposed between adjacent light emitting parts of said cathode ray tubes, and a light diffusing plate opposite to the front face of the light emitting part of said each individual cathode ray tube.
Abstract:
A cathode ray tube (CRT) mount which eliminates the need for mounting ears and provides for improved alignment of the CRT in the mount by providing a bezel having an opening therethrough for viewing the face of the CRT and a rear support member having an opening therethrough for receiving the rear portion of the CRT with resilient material being positioned on the bezel and the rear support in all areas that contact the CRT. Fasteners are used to urge the bezel and rear support member together to firmly mount the CRT. Means are provided for accurately aligning the rear support member to the bezel.
Abstract:
A light-shielding cover for a light guide member guiding light emitted from a stimulable phosphor sheet carrying a radiation image stored therein when the stimulable phosphor sheet is exposed to stimulating rays comprises a flexible light-shielding member for covering the whole of the side faces of the light guide member without closely contacting the side faces, and a pair of rod-like core metal members fitted to the flexible light-shielding member for sandwiching a portion near a linear light input face of the light guide member from both sides thereof.
Abstract:
A cathode-ray tube comprising a glass viewing window having, on its external viewing surface, an antistatic, glare-reducing, image-transmitting coating. The coating has a rough surface and is composed essentially of a silicate material and a metallic compound in proportions to impart the desired antistatic characteristic without substantially degrading the image-transmitting capability of the coating. When the tube is operated, the coating is grounded either directly or through the metal implosion-prevention system on the tube.
Abstract:
An improved image pickup tube has an insulating envelope with precisely formed inside and outside surfaces. The inside surface of the envelope has a diameter the midpoint of which lies on a longitudinally extending first mechanical axis. An electron gun is aligned with the first mechanical axis. The precisely formed outside surface of the envelope is substantially coaxial with the inside surface. The outside surface has a diameter the midpoint of which lies on a second mechanical axis that is substantially coincident with the first mechanical axis and the optical axis.
