A band averaging circuit and a related method for estimating a carrier frequency offset are applied in a multi-band multi-carrier communication system. A packet of the multi-band multi-carrier communication system is transmitted via a plurality of carriers. The band averaging circuit includes a frequency offset estimation unit for generating a plurality of carrier frequency offset ratios corresponding to the carriers according to a received packet; and a frequency offset adjustment circuit coupled to the frequency offset estimation unit for calculating a weighted average carrier frequency offset ratio according to carrier frequency offset ratios and comparison results of the carrier frequency offset ratios, and also for calculating a carrier frequency offset of each carrier according to the weighted average carrier frequency offset ratio and a center frequency of the carrier.

Content rights holders provide digital content to a hosting site to be used as reference content. The content owner specifies a policy for each digital content item, indicating how that content may be used on the site when uploaded by someone other than the content owner. An identification module compares the uploaded content against reference content. If the content matches reference content, the specified policy for that reference content is applied to the uploaded content. Policy options provided by the content owner include tracking the content to see how it is viewed, preventing the content from being distributed on the site, and allowing the content to be displayed in a revenue-sharing environment. In one embodiment, if the identification module matches the uploaded content to a reference item but the match does not have a sufficiently high level of confidence, the suggested match is queued for review by the content owner.

A method for transmitting an authorization message to terminals includes: transmitting, through multicasting, an authorization message to a plurality of terminals on a transmission network, and. the authorization message carries a multicast address, a product identity and authorization data. A method for receiving an authorization message by a terminal includes receiving an authorization message, when authentication according to a multicast address succeeds; parsing the authorization message to obtain authorization data; and obtaining, from the authorization data, information of whether a subscriber has subscribed to a product. An authorization management system and a terminal device are disclosed as well. According to the above schemes, authorization is accomplished through group-based multicast, so the bandwidth requirement is reduced and time for transmitting the authorization message is saved.

An apparatus and method for synchronizing sampling frequencies of a receiver and a transmitter of a multi-carrier communication system is provided. The receiver includes an estimator for estimating a frequency offset by employing an additional angle rotation of a received signal in frequency domain. The apparatus includes a compensation loop filter for generating a first output in response to a frequency offset compensation, an adder for adding the estimated frequency offset and the first output to generate a second output, and a loop filter for generating frequency offset compensation according to the second output. The method repeatedly applies the apparatus to generate frequency offset compensation, and then feeds it back to an oscillator to compensate the sampling frequency of the receiver. The apparatus and method can also be applied to a communication system with a carrier frequency offset.

An RF receiver includes a plurality of OFDM modules. The OFDM modules include receiver antennas for substantially simultaneously receiving a plurality of transmission signals transmitted via a single frequency band having a plurality of sub-channels. Further included is a channel estimation module connected to the plurality of OFDM modules, and a channel compensation module connected to the channel estimation module and the plurality of OFDM modules. For each sub-channel, the channel estimation module is capable of estimating channel frequency responses affecting the transmission signals, and the channel compensation module is capable of compensating the transmission signals according to the estimated channel frequency responses. The receiver allows an improved transfer rate per frequency band.

The present invention relates to a symbol acquisition apparatus and a method thereof. The method includes: determining a first boundary according to a first preamble symbol and generating a first confidence value according to signal quality of the first preamble symbol; determining a second boundary according to a second preamble symbol and generating a second confidence value according to signal quality of the second preamble symbol; and determining a symbol boundary from the first and the second boundaries according to the first and the second confidence values.

Embodiments of the invention comprise a method and apparatus for transforming data. Systems implementing the invention allow for loading the data from one or more source tables into one or more destination tables. The system allows for parsing source data fields, defining new source data fields, combining source fields to create source field combinations, and combining destination fields to create destination field combinations. The system allows for mapping source fields and values to destination fields and values, where either the source fields and values or destination fields and values may be field and value combinations, and allows for transforming field values based on destination field type. The tools provided in a system implementing the invention provide a user the ability to intervene at each step during the data transform task. A user may manually input a hierarchy definition, a specific mapping, define rules for combining data fields, or define rules for converting data values.

An apparatus and method for tracking a sampling clock are disclosed. The apparatus includes a compensating unit compensating phases of a first and a second received symbols according to a compensating signal and thereby generating a first and a second compensated symbols; a data removal module removing a first predetermined transmitted data from the first compensated symbol, and a second predetermined transmitted data from the second compensated symbol and thereby generating a first and a second data removal symbols; and a computing module generating a sampling clock offset according to the first and the second data removal symbols, and adjusting the sampling clock signal according to the sampling clock offset.

An apparatus and a method for equalizing a received signal to generate an equalized signal are disclosed. The apparatus includes a channel estimator for generating a channel estimation value according to a preamble symbol in the received signal and for generating a channel response value according to the channel estimation value, an interference power estimation circuit for generating an interference power estimate according to a hard decision value, the channel response value, and the received signal, and an equalization circuit for equalizing the received signal according to the channel response value and the adjusted interference power estimate to generate the equalized signal. The hard decision value corresponds to the equalized signal.
