Abstract: An optically transmissive armature is presented for use with an optical encoder mechanism in a cursor control device. The armature includes a substantially planar rectangular base, a plurality of supports, and a plurality of optical wave guides. An encoder mechanism is rotatably secured to the supports by an axis and is disposed in a predetermined position between the wave guides. The guides provide an optical pathway between photo-emitter/photo-detector pairs mounted on the surface of the printed circuit board of the cursor control device.

Abstract: A gaming apparatus in which a roulette wheel has a circular rim and a downwardly converging frustoconical bowl contained within the rim and joined thereto forming a track therewith for a roulette ball and a rotatable wheel head centered within the bowl at the bottom thereof and formed with a plurality of numbered compartments for receiving the roulette ball. An automatic roulette ball spinner having at least one guide tube is positioned along the rim for directing the roulette ball onto the track and is provided with a powered plunger for propelling the roulette ball through the guide tube. The guide tube is vertically moveable for lowering it onto the track to discharge the ball and then raising it to allow the ball to travel around the track uninterruptedly.

Abstract: A fishing rig storage device that is removably insertable into a receiving slot incorporated in at least one of a dividing wall or an interior surface of a tackle container is illustrated and described. The fishing rig storage device includes a mounting tab having quartered sections and a plurality of notches formed along a perimeter. Each quartered section includes at least one of the plurality of notches. A fishing rig having a hook assembly, a line, and a tail is secured to the mounting tab by securing the hook assembly to a first notch, selectively wrapping the line around the plurality of notches, and securing the tail to a slit extending from the perimeter. The line is preferably arranged around the mounting tab to minimize catching or snagging of the line on the hook assembly when the line is unwrapped from the mounting tab.

Abstract: A method of interpreting keypad input includes identifying a first letter of a target word from activation of an initial key, identifying a set of possible intermediate letters of the target word in response to non-activating traversal of associated keys of the keypad following activation of the initial key, identifying a last letter of the target word from activation of a final key following the non-activating traversal, and then determining the target word based upon the identified first, intermediate and last letters. Abstract: A device and method for producing individualized meals according to the visual desires of each diner at a restaurant. Reservoirs of viscous foodstuff is deposited by an XY or XYZ plotter to simulate edible images and then cooked prior to diners immediately consuming them. The high-volume system includes a rotary shuttle table that contemporaneously prints, cooks, flips and dispenses food products, especially pancakes. Patrons draw images using drawing implements whose colors coincide with the viscous foodstuffs in the reservoirs. These images are digitally scanned and the data is used to drive the XY plotter thereby enabling colored printed food to correlate with images drawn by patrons immediately prior to ordering.
