Abstract: A display device includes a first substrate including a first surface and a second surface on the opposite side with respect to the first surface, a second surface having a third surface opposite the first surface and a fourth surface on the opposite side with respect to the third surface, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, the display device includes a first region and a second region in a plan view, the first substrate includes a first polarizer provided on the second surface and a second polarizer being overlapped with the second region and being laminated with the first polarizer, and the second substrate includes a third polarizer provided on the fourth surface and a fourth polarizer being overlapped with the second region and being laminated with the third polarizer.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes scanning lines, a first signal line crossing the scanning lines, a first pixel electrode electrically connected to the first signal line, and a common electrode opposed to the first pixel electrode. In a frame period having a writing period where the scanning lines are sequentially selected and a holding period where the scanning lines are in an unselected state, polarity of a potential of the first signal line is first polarity in the writing period, and is reversed to second polarity different from the first polarity midway through the holding period.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a sealant, a liquid crystal layer, an organic insulating film, an alignment film and an inorganic insulating film. The second substrate is opposed to the first substrate. The sealant attaches the first substrate and the second substrate to each other. The liquid crystal layer is arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate. The organic insulating film, the alignment film and the inorganic insulating film are provided on the first substrate. The alignment film contacts the liquid crystal layer. The inorganic insulating film is located between the alignment film and the organic insulating film. At least part of the alignment film contacts the organic insulating film.

Abstract: A display device includes: a plurality of video lines and a plurality of scanning lines provided over an insulating base material; a light shielding film overlapping with the plurality of video lines and the plurality of scanning lines; a pixel electrode and a common electrode provided in a sub-pixel region surrounded by the plurality of video lines and the plurality of scanning lines in plan view; a liquid crystal layer driven by an electric field generated between the pixel electrode and the common electrode; and a first insulating layer provided between the pixel electrode and the common electrode. The common electrode is provided between the first insulating layer and the liquid crystal layer, and has an opening overlapping with the plurality of video lines and the plurality of scanning lines and overlapping with the pixel electrode. In a light transmission region surrounded by the light shielding film, a shape of the pixel electrode is a linear shape without a branching portion.
