Abstract:
The present invention is generally related to an electronic ballast, an ignition control apparatus used therein and associated method of operation. In one embodiment, an electronic ballast comprising an inverter and an ignition control apparatus which comprises a stability monitoring circuit and a controlled ignition circuit. The inverter converts a DC input voltage into an AC voltage to drive a gas discharge lamp. The stability monitoring circuit monitors whether the DC input voltage is stable. The controlled ignition circuit is electrically coupled to the stability monitoring circuit and the lamp, ignites the lamp based on the monitoring result. The controlled ignition circuit does not ignite the gas discharge lamp until the DC input voltage becomes stable.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a system for energy on-site collection and measurement feedback, which comprises fitness apparatuses capable of producing mechanical energy, generators, power meters and energy storage accumulators, wherein the fitness apparatuses are provided with moving parts for exercise which are connected with the generators and drive the generators to generate power; the generators are connected with the accumulators through the power meters for measuring the generating capacity; and each power meter comprises a bank card reader which has function of reading and updating data. The power meters can count and display energy produced by the excise of each person each time and a data processing host can summarize energy values produced by different apparatuses on the same site, so that exercisers are promoted to increase interest in exercise and take exercise regularly.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to hyperbranched copolymer networks containing hyperbranched copolymers that have perfluorocarbon and organosilicon entities that have high hydrophobicity, or high oleophobicity, or high thermal stability, or good adhesion to substrates, or any combinations thereof. This invention provides a further desirable combination of properties that include solubility before crosslinking, chemical resistance, and easy processibility. The copolymers may be crosslinked with a variety of crosslinking agents to give either rigid or elastomeric networks.
Abstract:
A shredder has a jam proof system with a thickness detector having a contact member which displaces as an article is inserted into the shredder and a resistance generating mechanism which provides a resistance force to the contact member, in response to its displacement. The greater the thickness of the article, the greater the resistance force realized. When a predetermined thickness is reached, there is a significant change in the resistance force. The resistance generating mechanism may include at least two spring mechanisms and provide feedback to the user that the inserted article may be too thick. In addition, the thickness detector may include a thickness sensor. The sensor may communicate with a controller to alert the user, and/or alter the operation of the shredder, in response to the thickness of the inserted article. For example, the controller may visually and/or audibly alert the user, or control shredder motor response.

Abstract:
A Multiple-Input Multiple-Output data transmission system includes access stations and an access point having multiple receive antennas. An access point has a minimum contention window size decision unit to determine a minimum contention window size based on the number of receive antennas and a number of access stations, a broadcasting unit to broadcast the determined minimum contention window size to the access stations, and a receiver to receive data from the access stations in a contention window that is calculated based on the minimum contention window size. An access station receives the minimum contention window size from the access point, determines a first contention window size based on the minimum contention window size, and transmits data to the access point within the first contention window. If the transmission fails, the access station determines a second contention window size and retransmits the data in the second contention window.
Abstract:
A gas turbine engine having a turbine section cooling system is disclosed which is able to cool the turbine section of the gas turbine engine to an optimal operating temperature range, while at the same time not substantially degrading engine performance. The disclosure provides a number of different structures for doing so including the provision of turning foils, turning holes, and turning grooves within a secondary air flow cavity which turns or directs cooling and parasitic leakage air into the turbine section in a direction in substantial alignment with a gas flow path through the turbine section.
Abstract:
Hyperbranched polymers having a plurality of at least two different types of functional groups are described. Specific embodiments include hyperbranched polymers having functional groups of a first type that are substantially uniformly distributed throughout the hyperbranched polymer molecule and a second type of functional group that is substantially uniformly distributed at the terminals of the hyperbranched polymer molecule. The hyperbranched polymers having different types of functional groups are synthesized by reacting one or more monomers having functional groups that are capable of reacting during a set of polymerization conditions to form a hyperbranched polymer, wherein at least one of the monomers contains latent functional groups that are not reactive during polymerization.
