Abstract:
In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. Further, the apparatus may be configured to determine that content is available for reception based on broadcast context information. In an aspect, the apparatus may be in an idle or inactive mode and may be associated with a first base station that is associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) that does not support broadcasting of the content. The apparatus may be further configured to receive a release message from the first base station, the release message including redirection information indicating a second base station associated with a second RAT that supports broadcasting of the content, establish a connection with the second base station based on the redirection information, and receive the content from the second base station using the second RAT.
Abstract:
Aspects of the disclosure relate to enabling new radio (NR) cellular quality of service (QoS) for non-internet protocol (IP) data sessions. In a particular aspect of the disclosure, a non-IP based protocol data unit (PDU) session is established, and a packet filter is selected based on at least one aspect of a data packet formatted in a non-IP format associated with the non-IP PDU session. A transmission of the data packet is then filtered according to the packet filter.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may prevent rejected attachment requests when connecting to a trusted wireless local area network (WLAN) and from a wireless wide area network (WWAN). For example, an attachment packet data network (PDN) connection may be maintained with the WWAN while connected to the trusted WLAN. In some cases, the connection used to maintain the attachment may be an internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) connection. Alternatively, the UE may determine that the WLAN connection is a trusted connection and deactivate the WWAN connection. Should the WLAN become unavailable the UE may reactivate the connection with the WWAN.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. A multi-radio device controls wireless communications by identifying one or more connection points between radio(s) of the multi-radio device and an operating system executing on a host device, analyzing a policy relating to the multi-radio device, and exposing, to the operating system, a subset of the connection points based on the policy. A modem manages a connection to an applications processor (AP) by virtualizing physical communication interfaces at the modem, providing a single Internet protocol (IP) interface representing the virtualized physical communication interfaces to a high level operating system (HLOS) at the AP, detecting a physical communication interface connected to the modem, and determining whether to expose the detected physical communication interface to the HLOS as a standalone virtualized physical communication interface, or hide the detected physical communication interface as part of an existing virtualized physical communication interface.

Abstract:
A UE may include one or more application processors and a modem processor. The modem processor may include flow priority engine configured to receive, from the one or more application processors, requests for determining priority treatment of one or more packet filters of one or more uplink transmissions and transmit the one or more uplink transmissions to a base station based on priorities of the one or more uplink transmissions. The priorities of the uplink transmissions may be determined based on at least one of the requests for priority treatment received from the one or more application processors, mapping of uplink transmissions to radio bearers, the priorities of the radio bearers, or one or more configuration rules.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a cellular modem may transmit, to an applications processor, an indication to use a non-Third Generation Partnership Project (non-3GPP) interworking function (N3IWF) for non-access stratum (NAS) signaling. Accordingly, the cellular modem may establish a first virtual interface with the applications processor. The cellular modem may further perform an Internet Key Exchange (IKE) procedure with a core network using the first virtual interface and the N3IWF and transmit a key generated during the IKE procedure to the applications processor. Numerous other aspects are described.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish a cellular connection with a base station associated with a cellular radio network. The UE may receive an access policy of the cellular radio network identifying an access preference rule for the UE to adopt for connections to a core network function of the cellular radio network, the access preference rule indicating for the UE to preferentially connect to the core network function via a non-cellular radio network. The UE may determine that a gateway between the non-cellular radio network and the core network function of the cellular radio network is not configured. The UE may determine that a gateway selection policy of the cellular radio network is not configured. The UE may establish a connection to a legacy core network function of a legacy cellular radio network via a legacy gateway.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for identifying edge application servers (EASs) to support one or more services of an application client (AC) running on a user equipment (UE). An AC of a UE may send a request for an edge enabler client (EEC) of the UE to identify one or more EASs for one or more services of the AC. The EEC may receive the request and may perform an EAS discovery procedure to identify the one or more EASs. The EEC may then send a response to the AC including identifiers of the one or more EASs (e.g., if the EAS discovery procedure indicated that these EASs are available). Once the AC receives the response, the AC may connect to each EAS of the EASs indicated by the EEC to support a corresponding service of the AC.
