Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for determining shared resources associated with one or more user equipments (UEs) for sidelink communications, including control resources and data resources. A first UE may determine a first set of control resources in a first frequency band corresponding to a first group of UEs including the first UE. The first UE may transmit a sidelink request to reserve a subset of data resources to a second UE in the first group of UEs. The first UE may monitor for one or more sidelink responses indicating a positive sidelink response to the sidelink request, a negative sidelink response to the sidelink request, or both. The first UE may determine, based on monitoring for the one or more sidelink responses, whether to transmit a sidelink confirmation indicating a reservation of the data resources to the second UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A set of user equipments (UEs) may communicate with each other on communication links using data resources from a pool of shared resources. The UEs may be configured to multiplex control resources with data resources of a shared resource pool. In some cases, a UE may communicate, in control resources, control signaling to reserve data resources of a shared resource pool. After transmitting the request, the UE may communicate data in one or more data resources. The UE may communicate the data using transmission components while concurrently processing control signaling using other components.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication by a first sidelink UE measures multiple reference signals periodically transmitted by a second sidelink UE using multiple receive beams corresponding to reference signals in response to a beam failure declared by the first UE. The method also selects one of the reference signals that satisfies a condition. The method further includes notifying the second sidelink UE of the selected reference signal using a beam corresponding to the selected reference signal. Another method of wireless communications by a first sidelink UE includes periodically transmitting, to a second sidelink UE, multiple beam failure recovery (BFR) reference signals across multiple transmit beams. The method also includes receiving, from the second sidelink UE, an indication of a selected beam for communications between the first sidelink UE and the second sidelink UE. The method notifies the second sidelink UE of successful beam failure recovery.

The first UE may determine a first set of sidelink beam failure detection reference signals to transmit to the second UE and a second set of sidelink beam failure detection reference signals to receive from the second UE. The first UE may transmit the first set to the second UE using a set of sidelink transmit beams. The first UE may further monitor for the determined second set using a set of sidelink receive beams. Based on the first and second set of sidelink beam failure detection reference signals, the first and second UE may communicate over the sidelink.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication by a first sidelink user equipment (UE) transmits a sidelink (SL) beam failure recovery (BFR) message to a communications node, indicating a new candidate beam and an identifier (ID) of a second sidelink UE. The method also receives an acknowledgment of the SL BFR message. A communications node receives a sidelink beam failure recovery message from a first sidelink user equipment, indicating a new candidate beam and an ID of a second sidelink UE. The method also transmits information identifying the new candidate beam and the ID to the second sidelink UE. Another method by a first sidelink user equipment receives a sidelink beam failure recovery message from a base station, indicating a new candidate beam and an ID of a second sidelink UE. The method changes a beam used to communicate with the second sidelink UE in response to receiving the BFR message.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a tracking reference signal (TRS) pattern to be used for receiving a TRS. The TRS pattern may indicate a plurality of TRS symbols of the TRS, one or more TRS symbols of the plurality of TRS symbols having a bandwidth that is different than a bandwidth of at least one other TRS symbol of the plurality of TRS symbols, or having a discontinuous tone allocation. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for using different configurations for downlink or uplink transmissions associated with different transmission configuration indication (TCI) states (e.g., transmitted on different beams). In one example, a base station may use different configurations for downlink transmissions to a user equipment (UE), and the base station may indicate the different configurations to the UE. For instance, the base station may transmit downlink control information (DCI) indicating a baseline configuration and other configurations as a delta of the baseline configuration. In another example, a base station may dynamically indicate a timing advance to a UE (e.g., in DCI or flow control feedback) for an uplink transmission from the UE associated with a TCI state, and the UE may use the dynamically indicated timing advance for uplink transmissions associated with the TCI state.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for facilitating device-to-device (D2D) communications on sidelinks. Some implementations more specifically relate to a user equipment (UE) determining sidelink communication parameter corresponding to UE assistance information or UE capability information. The UE may also determine an attribute associated with the sidelink communication parameter, the attribute indicating the sidelink communication parameter is a dynamic parameter or a static parameter. The UE may further transmit to another UE, on a sidelink, the sidelink communication parameter and the attribute. The UE may also communicate with the other UE on the sidelink based on the transmitted sidelink communication parameter and the attribute.

Abstract: The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support configurations for sidelink beam management. In some cases, a base station may determine sidelink beams for beam sweeping and instruct a user equipment (UE) which sidelink beams to use. The base station may determine the sidelink beams for beam sweeping based on a report sent from the UE. In other cases, the UE may determine transmission sidelink beams for beam sweeping based on the UE capabilities beam input from the receiving UE, or the base station determining which beams to use and allocating resources for the beam sweeping. Additionally or alternatively, the base station may determine a portion of the sidelink beams for beam sweeping and the UE may determine a portion of the sidelink beams to use for beam sweeping in addition to the beams indicated by the base station.
