Abstract:
The present invention relates to a heat sealable element, which comprises a support, a heat sealing layer comprising a thermoplastic polymer which melts in the range of 50-250° C., a wax which melts in the range of 50-250° C., or combinations thereof, and an image layer which comprises at least one polymer which is capable of selectively receiving and retaining water base colorants. The present invention further relates to a process for heat sealing an image, which comprises imaging the above-mentioned heat sealable element and heating the imaged element in order to melt the imaging layer and heat sealing layer to form substantially a single layer and encapsulating the water base colorant in the single layer.
Abstract:
An approach to printing a nickel precursor ink on a wide range of substrates for electronics and magnetic applications is disclosed. The nickel ink reduces to elemental nickel following heating. The ink was printed using an ultrasonic aerosol printing technique. By sintering the nickel precursor ink in the presence of a homogeneous magnetic field, the reduced nickel complex formed continuously aligned nickel nanofibers axially aligned with the direction of the magnetic field. The fabrication of aligned interlayered nanofiber films provides opportunities to produce structures with enhanced isotropic electrical and magnetic properties. The resistivity of the film was found to be as low as 0.56 mΩ·cm, and the saturation magnetization was measured to be 30 emu/g, which is comparable to bulk Ni. Magnetic anisotropy was induced with an easy axis along the direction of the applied magnetic field with soft magnetic properties.
Abstract:
A “sticky boom” system facilitates physical control of foreign objects, such as those in a zero-gravity environment. The electroadhesive system includes an electrostatic adhesion pad that electrostatically and detachably adheres to a separate foreign object, as well as a boom coupled to the pad. The pad includes electrode(s) adapted to produce an electrostatic force between the pad and the object that maintains the position of the pad relative to the object. The boom provides control for positioning the pad relative to the object and also for movement of the pad and object combination when they are electrostatically adhered together. A sensing component detects when the pad is adhered to the foreign object, and a control mechanism coupled to the boom allows for control of the pad and object at a remote distance. Multiple foreign objects can be adhered simultaneously. Control can include location and/or rotational movement or deceleration of objects.
Abstract:
A display for showing indicia in the form of a bar graph is provided. The display is configured so that each bar of the bar graph depicts a numerical or other quantitative value of a parameter. Each bar is provided with one or more additional indicia representative of numerical values that are related to the numerical values represented by the bar(s) shown in the bar graph. Each of the one or more additional indicia is positioned to as to be superimposed over the respective bar to which the additional indicia correspond, and depict the relationship(s) between the value represented by the bar and the value represented by the one or more additional indicia.
Abstract:
A media player for playing files of different formats on demand using a plurality of renderer components appropriate for the different formats for a network-connected computer system or electronic device having a visual display includes a media player shell having a viewable stage area displayed on the visual display for playing media and for displaying any controls for controlling playing of media. The shell determines file formats of files to be played by the media player and downloads renderer components capable of playing the file formats. Each renderer component is downloaded by the shell on demand and displayed on the stage area, where it is used to play the file. When more than one file is to be played by the player, the shell determines this fact first downloads a document chooser to be displayed in the stage area for selecting files for playing.
Abstract:
A catalyst system for a marine engine includes a plurality of catalyst devices arranged in parallel with each other to accommodate a smaller overall size in a preferred dimension to allow more efficient packaging of the catalyst system.
Abstract:
The exhaust system for a marine engine provides a concentricity spacer located between an outer surface of a generally tubular member of a catalyst device and an inner surface of a generally tubular cavity formed within a catalyst housing structure. The concentricity spacer is shaped to allow fluid to pass through the spacer in a direction generally parallel to a central axis of the tubular member.

According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the corn variety designated LH354. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety LH354, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety LH354 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to corn seeds and plants produced by crossing plants of variety LH354 with plants of another variety, such as another inbred line. The invention further relates to the inbred and hybrid genetic complements of plants of variety LH354.
