Abstract:
A focus-detector arrangement includes a radiation source with a focus, arranged on a first side of the subject, for generating a fan-shaped or conical beam of rays; at least one X-ray optical grating arranged in the beam path, with at least one phase grating arranged on the opposite second side of the subject in the beam path generating an interference pattern of the X-radiation preferably, in a particular energy range; and an analysis-detector system which detects at least the interference pattern generated by the phase grating in respect of its phase shift with position resolution. According to at least one embodiment of the invention, at least one X-ray optical grating including bars which are free from overhangs form shadows in the beam path of the fan-shaped or conical beam of rays.
Abstract:
In a method and an apparatus for acquisition of a digital x-ray image of an examination subject with a digital x-ray receiver, the digital x-ray image being composed of a number of individual images acquired in temporal succession and overlapping one another at least in one diagnostically-relevant subject region, at least one intermediate image composed of a number of individual images is evaluated to control at least one acquisition parameter used to generate the x-ray image. For the acquisition of digital x-ray images, an exposure control without exposure of the patient to an additional radiation dose is possible.
Abstract:
In a method and apparatus for generation of a digital x-ray image of an examination subject with an x-ray tube and a digital x-ray detector, a preliminary total dose required for correct exposure is determined using prior knowledge and a complete pre-image of the examination subject is acquired with a partial dose that is smaller than the preliminary total dose. A remaining dose is determined from the pre-image by image evaluation. A complete following image is acquired with this remaining dose, and the final x-ray image is assembled from the pre-image and the following image.
Abstract:
A x-ray diagnostic apparatus for mammography examinations has a support arm is supported in a bearing such that it can pivot around a substantially horizontal axis, and on which are arranged an arm provided with an x-ray source, a mounting provided with an x-ray receiver and a compression device. The arm, the mounting and the compression device can be mutually pivoted with the support arm around the horizontal axis. Additionally the arm and the mounting can be pivoted relative to the compression device around the horizontal axis and the arm can be pivoted relative to the mounting and the compression device around the horizontal axis.
Abstract:
In a device and associated method to extract a tissue sample, spatial coordinates of tissue variations in slice images are determined and tested by a forward projection in projection images in order, with tested spatial coordinates, to create revised slice images with a precise localization of a tissue variation.
Abstract:
In a tomographical image reconstruction method and apparatus to generate an image of an examination subject from a number of digital projection data acquired at different projection angles, a first analytical filter kernel (formed by a first analytical function) is determined for a filtered back projection in the spatial frequency range, this first analytical filter kernel approximating, at least in a range of the spatial frequency, a discrete filter kernel iteratively determined for a model. Back projection is implemented with a second analytical filter kernel calculated from the analytical filter kernel and formed by a second analytical function.
Abstract:
In a continuous mammography procedure, the breast of a subject is fixed in place in a retention device, and a first x-ray image is generated by irradiating the breast in the retention device. While the breast is still held in the retention device, the first x-ray image is evaluated to define a condition for generating a second x-ray image. The second x-ray image is then generated according to the defined condition, with the breast still in the same position in the retention device.
Abstract:
In a method to create dual energy x-ray image data of a predetermined volume segment of an examination subject with an x-ray system, a low-energy x-ray image data of the volume segment is created, a high-energy x-ray image data of the volume segment is created, the low-energy x-ray image data is subtracted from the high-energy x-ray image data to create the dual energy x-ray image data. An x-ray filter that consists essentially of titanium is used in the creation of the dual energy x-ray image data.

Abstract:
A tomosynthesis apparatus has an x-ray source that generates an x-ray beam emanating from a focus, which is received by a flat panel detector. To set a tomosynthesis angle, the position of the central axis of the x-ray beam of the x-ray source is variable. A collimator diaphragm has a diaphragm aperture that limits the expansion of the x-ray beam at the location of the flat panel detector. The collimator diaphragm is arranged in the beam path between the focus and the flat panel detector. The shape and size of the diaphragm aperture are dynamically varied (adjusted) dependent on the changing tomosynthesis angle, such that the expansion of the x-ray beam at the location of the flat panel detector always essentially corresponds to the detector dimensions.
