Abstract:
A circuit breaker (1) with a terminal connector (5). The terminal connector (5) has engagement means provided by outwardly extending male spade connectors (9a-9d) arranged in two spaced-apart offset parallel rows (7, 8). The circuit breaker (1) can therefore accommodate a maximum number of connectors (9a-9d) while allowing female spade connectors to be positioned regardless of orientation.
Abstract:
An accessory module for monitoring and controlling the status of a circuit breaker. The accessory module attaches to the side of a circuit breaker and has a mechanism similar to the mechanism in a circuit breaker. The mechanism has multiple positions that correspond to multiple states of a circuit breaker Actuators transform relatively large-scale motions of the mechanism into small-scale motions and transfers these to buttons on switches. Depressing these switches depending on the position of the mechanical assembly makes and breaks circuits that are in communication with a remote site. A circuit board designed specifically to hold and locate the switches and actuators and provide tracings that can withstand high currents. The invention further provides a terminal plug having a pull tab which can be grasped to remove an otherwise inaccessible terminal plug. A dual-function base, which serves both as an enclosure and as a spacer.
Abstract:
A non-ferrous current sensor is used to continuously measure the charging current magnitude in step-graded foil and paper insulation systems and capacitive insulation systems used on high voltage measurement and control apparatus such as instrument transformers and on the condenser bushings of power transformers and circuit breakers. The low voltage measured signal is conditioned by an electronic circuit that modulates a DC signal in a system current control loop to provide continuous remote monitoring and alarm functions. Remote power is supplied to the sensor and conversion circuits through the current loop. The sensor detects changes in the charging current through the insulation ground conductor, indicating the degradation of the dielectric properties between the foil layers. The sensor and associated electronic circuitry are enclosed in a housing adaptable to be used with a capacitance tap common to high voltage measurement and control apparatus. A test tap allows a calibration control module to inject various current levels through the sensing circuits that allow for calibrating the overall system to a specific high voltage apparatus.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an interior panel assembly for a load center having a plurality of adjacent components for distributing electrical service to branch circuits. The panel assembly includes at least one bus bar formed with branch stabs for electrically connecting to terminals extending from a plurality of circuit interrupters and a generally planar support base having a front face for securing each bus bar. One end of each bus bar is adapted for electrical and mechanical connection to one of the adjacent components. The panel assembly aligns the interior panel assembly relative to an adjacent component and relative to an enclosure for the load center so that the adjacent component connects electrical service to each bus bar and the interior panel assembly secures within the enclosure. Preferably, at least one pair of flanges is integrally formed along the circumference of the support base. The pair of flanges are positioned along opposing ends of the support base. In another preferred embodiment a bracket having an elongated body with a generally flat profile is fastened to one of the enclosure walls. The bracket also includes at least one tab integrally formed with the body. The tab has side walls and a distal end extending perpendicularly outward from the body. The tab has an embossed profile with the tab being raised out of the plane of the elongated body.

Abstract:
A system for modifying a printed circuit board allows parallel design of the printed circuit board and a programmable gate or logic array used on the circuit board. The printed circuit board design can be fixed before the gate array design is complete, which allows for flexibility in pin assignments of the high density integrated circuit mounted on the circuit board. Each pin of the gate array that can vary has a pair of vias connected by a conductive track. Changing signal paths requires cutting this track and using a jumper to make the new connection.
Abstract:
A single phase, dry type transformer has an iron core, high voltage windings embedded in cast resin, and low voltage windings resin encapsulated. The low voltage winding is constructed with flexible sheet conductors. Insulating material includes a means to secure the windings in place during a vacuum and pressure resin impregnation process. The result is a coil that exhibits high short circuit protection due to the tightly bond conductors comparable to completely resin encased molded transformers at a substantially reduced cost.
Abstract:
A current induction arrangement develops a power supply voltage and a measurement signal from current flowing in a circuit path so as to optimize both the energy developed in the power supply and the fidelity of the sinusoidal signal used to measure the waveform in the circuit path. The arrangement includes a capacitor accumulating current to develop a positive voltage with respect to common, a current transformer inducing current from the circuit path and providing an output having a positive induced-current signal component and a negative induced-current signal component. A rectifier circuit is arranged to receive the output from the current transformer, and to produce the positive induced current signal component at a positive output terminal and the negative induced current signal component at a negative output terminal. A first zener diode is connected to receive the positive induced-current signal component, and the circuit permits the positive induced-current signal to charge the capacitor. The first zener diode also has a second terminal coupled to common. A second first zener diode is coupled between the negative output terminal and common via a burden resistor. For developing a measurement voltage corresponding to the current produced by the current transformer, the burden resistor is arranged in series with the second zener diode. The positive and negative induced-current signal components are returned to the current transformers via common.

The switchboard assembly includes at least two rear mounting plates each formed with interspersed different format apertures in a longitudinal direction. The two rear mounting plates are located in juxtaposed relationship and are adjustable in a lateral direction so as to be spaced apart by different specified distances and together be capable of accepting different sized plug-in outgoer arrangements.
