Abstract:
A method includes providing an adjustable bed flame including one or more articulating portions; providing an air inflatable mattress associated with the adjustable bed flame to form an adjustable bed, said air inflatable mattress including flex regions about which the air inflatable mattress can flex; regulating air pressure in the air inflatable mattress with an air pump; and storing user preferences in a remote memory, said user preferences representing recall parameters relating to one or more adjustable aspects of the adjustable bed, said remote memory disposed apart from both the adjustable bed frame, the air inflatable mattress, and the air pump, and said storing user preferences comprising: storing a plurality of values that define a range of available parameters for the adjustable bed, said storing the plurality of values including storing a table having a plurality of entries.
Abstract:
A controller for an adjustable bed can accept voice input, such as spoken commands to control functions of an adjustable bed. The controller can also accept voice commands to control functions of a second system associated with the bed. One or more voice commands can result in both the adjustable bed and the second system functionality being controlled.
Abstract:
A mattress with airflow-circulating function has a main body and a ventilator. The main body has a crisscross groove formed in the main body. The ventilator is detachably connected with the main body and has a hollow joint, four extending tubes and a curved tube. The joint has five openings. The extending tubes are respectively and securely connected to four of the openings of the joint to form a cross and are mounted in the groove. Each extending tube has multiple apertures formed in the extending tube. The curved tube is securely connected to the other one of the openings of the joint and is mounted through the main body. Accordingly, air can be pumped into the joint and is ejected out from the apertures toward the part of the human body. Therefore, the circulating airflow can massage the part of the human body, relieve the pressure and facilitate blood circulation.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A massaging mattress assembly for massaging various parts of a user's body while lying down. The massaging mattress assembly includes a mattress that has a top, a head end, and a plurality of slots that are spacedly disposed in the top. A headrest assembly is removably attached to the head end of the mattress. A roller assembly is disposed in the slots of the mattress. The roller assembly includes base members that are disposed in the slots and also includes ball members upon which a user lies. A vibrating assembly is disposed in said mattress.
Abstract:
An apparatus for improving health includes a therapeutic assembly comprising a control panel, a horizontal central channel, a hollow cylinder rotatably disposed in the channel, a sound reproducing device, a light source adapted to emit colorful light rays, a pulsed low frequency generating unit adapted to generate magnetic resonance, an IR generator, a nano lamp, and an electromagnetic wave generating unit; and a table having a top magnetic massaging bed adapted to move lengthwise with respect to the table to dispose in the cylinder, the magnetic massaging bed being adapted to generate static magnetic fields.
Abstract:
Methods of maintaining or improving the metabolic state of a subject, e.g., a human, are disclosed. The methods can include providing to the subject a low magnitude, high frequency mechanical signal on a periodic basis and for a time sufficient to maintain or improve the subject's metabolic state. The subject can be diagnosed as having or can be at risk of developing, an obesity-related medical condition, e.g., type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, rheumatoid arthritis, and breast cancer. The methods can include a step of identifying a suitable subject by evaluating a physiological parameter that reflects the metabolic state of the subject, e.g., visceral fat content, subcutaneous fat content, body mass index, and blood pressure.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a wave generating apparatus for generating waves in for example beds, chairs and the like. The apparatus can be constructed to include a motor and crank assembly connected to a flexible sheet and a stationary inertial member. In one aspect of the invention there is provided an apparatus for generating wave motion, comprising a flexible member; an oscillatory drive means attached to said flexible member, said oscillatory drive means including a crank assembly having an axis of rotation; at least two link members each having opposed first and second end portions, the at least two link members being spaced apart a first pre-selected distance from each other and each being rigidly attached at their respective first end portions to said flexible member; and at least one elongate beam, said at least two link members being pivotally attached to the at least one elongate beam, and the elongate beam being attached to the crank assembly, for imparting oscillatory motion to the at least one elongate beam so that when the oscillatory drive means is engaged the at least one elongate beam undergoes oscillatory motion which produces transverse waves along the flexible member.
Abstract:
A massaging device with a variable surface for providing a good general massage that includes one user support surface (1), a structural support frame (2) and at least one dimensionally varying device (3). In one embodiment, the dimensionally varying device may be an airbag. At least one airbag is situated in between the user support surface and the structural support frame. The airbag utilizes a fluid that is either liquid or gaseous in nature to vary its dimensions. By the varying the dimensions of the airbag, the massage forces experienced by a user is indirectly varied. This embodiment can be used in a chair, bed or any other surface that is in contact with a user for the purposes of a massage. It may further include a pressure regulator for the fluid and force detection sensors so as to provide real-time feedback to the user as the massage progresses.
Abstract:
An apparatus comprising a mattress, a mattress support, cast shoes, a footboard support, a drive for causing the reciprocating movement, and a box frame to contain and support the reciprocating movement platform is disclosed. The apparatus provides medical treatments, which are also described, by externally applying periodic acceleration to the body of a subject on the mattress.
