Abstract:
The invention proposes a chain for a machine drive, transport of material in a machine or the like, and also a packaging machine comprising one such chain, this chain being better than known link chains at meeting requirements in respect of hygiene conditions during operation and cleaning. This is achieved according to the invention in that flexible chain links (4) are provided between rigid chain links (2), the flexible chain links (4) being fixed to the rigid chain links (2).
Abstract:
A method is proposed for operating a vacuum handling device controlled by a programmable controller (39) which can be connected to a machine controller (10), with at least one vacuum generator (28) and with a number of gripper modules (20), which are connected to the vacuum generator and are each equipped with a first pressure sensor (46) and with a control valve (44) for the vacuum in the gripper module, and which are connected to the programmable controller. The control valve in the gripper module is closed in a first switching state (vacuum on) of the programmable controller and is detected up to the control valve (44) by means of a second pressure sensor (78) in the vacuum generator.
Abstract:
In a method for depositing a flat object dropping freely into a lower compartment, a wall of the compartment at an angle in relation to a vertical is used as a flat deposit point for a flat side of the flat object. During passage of the flat object into the lower compartment an angular momentum is imparted to the flat object such that an angle of incidence between the wall and the flat side of the flat object is minimized.

Abstract:
A system is provided for transferring a substrate of a flat panel display between the processing stations of a flat panel display manufacturing line. The system includes a transfer device that transfers a transfer container in which a substrate is loaded, a container loading and unloading device that loads and unloads the containers on and from the transfer device, and a substrate loading and unloading device that transfers the substrates between the container and processing equipment located at the respective stations. The transfer device includes a track mounted on a facility floor and a plurality of wheeled carriages that move programmably along the track by means of linear motors. The system enables substrate transfer time to be reduced substantially, yet provides robust protection of the substrates throughout the transfer process.
Abstract:
A vacuum conveyor has a toothed belt with opposed sets of teeth along the sides of the belt inner surface; the belt is driven by a synchronous motor giving very precise delivery, the motor driving a toothed roll located in the conveyor center section within the loop of the belt. The oncoming and offgoing belt guidance rolls have replaceable bearing inserts; two rolls control the wrap and load transfer between the belt and the driving roll; the top reach of the perforated belt slides on plastic vacuum blocks, having through air passages in corresponding patterned relation at the surfaces of the blocks, bounded by air-sealing shoulder portions of the blocks.

Abstract:
A multiple loader, also adapted to operate as a magazine for storing vertically arranged panels, comprises, at a front head portion thereof, a step-by-step pushing device including a carriage driven by pneumatic cylinders causing the carriage to slide with a rectilinear reciprocating horizontal movement, to provide a pushing action on a first of a series of separating elements, arranged at a top sliding platform.
Abstract:
This invention relates to apparatus of forming a row of sliced product, which has a lateral dimension when aligned in a row. The apparatus 10 includes a row former, generally indicated at 13 and a pattern former generally indicated at 14. The row former forms rows of, for example, tomato slices 16, which are delivered onto a receiving surface, formed by the belt of a conveyor 17. The conveyor 17 is driven intermittently to deliver slices 16 in their row 15 onto the first conveyor 18 of the pattern former 14. The row former 13 includes an inclined conveyor belt 31, which has slats 32 spaced along its length, the spacing being dictated by the lateral dimension of the sliced product to be handled. A series of wiper blades 33 are spaced along the conveyor 31, along the direction of travel. As the belt 31 is driven intermittently the slices are elevated and wiped into the spaces between the slats until rows are formed.
Abstract:
A device for dropping individual rolled flat bars moved crosswise in a stack over an inclined rake-type cooling bed on an adjacent horizontal roll-type cooling bed comprises inclined transport rolls having crescent-shaped bar stops with a maximum height corresponding to the top of the bar stack and rotatable to decrease the crescent level for dropping the bars successively on the roll-type cooling bed.
