Abstract:
A process and reactor for chemical conversion is taught. The process allows the selective breaking of chemical bonds in a molecule by use of fast rise alternating current or fast rise pulsed direct current, each fast rise portion being selected to have a suitable voltage and frequency to break a selected chemical bond in a molecule. The reactor for carrying out such a process includes a chamber for containing the molecule and a generator for generating and applying the selected fast rise current.

An electric energy conversion/storage system includes an ozone generating means (12) for producing an ozonized gas from a raw material gas containing oxygen by utilizing electric energy, an ozone adsorbing/desorbing means (15) for adsorbing ozone contained in the ozonized gas and desorbing ozone from the adsorbed state, a gas circulation system for causing the raw material gas and the ozonized gas to flow through the ozone generating means (12) and the ozone adsorbing/desorbing means (15) while feeding back to the ozone generating means (12) a residual part of the oxygen gas remaining after adsorption of ozone, a coolant supply means (16) for cooling the ozone adsorbing/desorbing means (15), and an ozone discharging means (29, 30) for taking out an ozone containing gas which contains ozone molecules from the ozone adsorbing/desorbing means (15) to thereby supply the ozone containing gas to an ozone consumer (23). The ozone discharging means (29, 30) includes an ozone concentration control means (29) for enabling supply of the ozone containing gas to the ozone consumer (23) substantially at a predetermined ozone concentration and substantially at a predetermined constant flow rate.
Abstract:
A system massages a user's feet and generates an electro-kinetic airflow that contains safe amounts of ozone that can deodorize the user's feet or socks. The system includes an ion generator comprising a high voltage pulse generator whose output pulses are coupled between left and right first and second electrode arrays. Preferably the first electrode array includes first and second pointed electrodes, and the second electrode array includes annular-like electrodes having a central opening coaxial with the associated pointed electrode. Preferably the annular-like electrodes are formed from a single sheet of metal by extrusion or punching such that the surface of the annular-like electrodes is smooth and continuous through the opening and into a collar region through which the air flows. Particulate matter in the ambient air electrostatically adheres to the smooth continuous surface of the annular-like electrodes.

Abstract:
An electro-kinetic electro-static air conditioner includes a self-contained ion generator that provides electro-kinetically moved air with ions and safe amounts of ozone. The ion generator includes a high voltage pulse generator whose output pulses are coupled between first and second electrode arrays. Preferably the first array comprises one or more wire electrodes spaced staggeringly apart from a second array comprising hollow “U”-shaped electrodes. Preferably a ratio between effective area of an electrode in the second array compared to effective area of an electrode in the first array exceeds about 15:1 and preferably is about 20:1. An electric field produced by the high voltage pulses between the arrays produces an electrostatic flow of ionized air containing safe amounts of ozone. A bias electrode, electrically coupled to the second array electrodes, affects net polarity of ions generated. The outflow of ionized air and ozone is thus conditioned.
Abstract:
An ozone generator of the corona discharge type having a housing which is dimensioned to fit into one of a male end and female end of an air duct of a building and a glass tube of a radius substantially less than a width of the housing. An electrically conductive inner mesh is fitted over an interior surface of the glass tube and an electrically conductive outer mesh is fitted over an exterior surface of the glass tube. The ozone generator also has means for generating a high electric potential difference across the electrically conductive meshes.

Abstract:
An electronic type ozone generating device utilizing an elongated tube or cylinder having a negative electrode in the form of a fine wire, and a conductive coating on an inner surface of the tube connected to a source of positive potential, whereby air to be ionized forms a dilectric. In contrast to prior art devices in which the air to be treated flows in substantially continuous fashion, means is provided for injecting fixed quantities of air to be treated in pulsed fashion to provide for greater effectiveness. In a second embodiment, means is provided for moving a plurality of fine wire electrodes in an orbital path within the tube relative to the principal axis thereof to provide greater ionization.
Abstract:
An improved corona reactor method and apparatus for subjecting a fluid reactant to a corona discharge, and particularly for generating ozone. The corona reactor includes a housing containing an air-cooled, modular, corona reactor core comprising a plurality of separate, individually removable, air-tight corona reactor cells. Each corona reactor cell includes two, spacedapart, metallic electrodes or shell portions defining an airtight corona discharge chamber therebetween. The exterior surfaces of the electrodes are bare and exposed to ambient; the interior (facing) surfaces are covered with a ceramic discharge dielectric; and the fluid reactant is subjected to the corona discharge within the corona discharge chamber by appropriate inlet and outlet ports. The individual cells are electrically connected in series.
Abstract:
An ozone generator apparatus and method of making same having inner and outer tubes connected together with spacers therebetween leaving air space between the tubes. The smaller tube has a copper rod attached along its axis and is filled with a brine solution and the larger tube is either metal or has a metallic coating with a voltage source connected between the larger tube and the copper rod. Air is forced and directed between the larger and smaller tubes where ozone is generated.
