(1300° F.) when the hot flowpath side experiences a service operating temperature of from about 700° C. (1300° F.) to about 788° C. (1450° F.).
Abstract:
A combustion turbine component (10) includes a combustion turbine component substrate (16) and an alloy coating (14) on the combustion turbine component substrate. The alloy coating (14) includes a first amount, by weight percent, of cobalt (Co) and a second amount, by weight percent, of nickel (Ni), the first amount being greater than the second amount. The alloy coating further includes chromium (Cr), aluminum (Al), at least one rare earth element, and an oxide of the at least one rare earth element.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a ceramic-based bushing for mounting in a turbomachine casing to provide a smooth bearing for a pivot of a variable-pitch vane. The bushing is constituted by a metal jacket and a ceramic ring secured to the inside wall of said jacket by brazing. The invention also provides a turbomachine compressor having variable-pitch stator vanes with pivots mounted in the casing by means of such bushings.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a turbine blade with a cover plate shaped onto the pan of the blade. The aim of the invention is to provide a turbine blade of this type that, while having a high level of efficiency, is designed for a particularly reliable and safe operation in a turbine, particularly of a steam turbine. To this end, the invention provides that a protective layer made on an alternative material is applied to the surface of the cover plate facing away from the pan of the blade. The friction behavior with regard to a turbine component, particularly a sealing strip, which is opposite the protective layer, can be specifically influenced whereby enabling favorable emergency running properties to be provided in the event of rubbing.
Abstract:
A method for reaction control coating includes: (a) a step of applying a reaction control material to a surface of an Ni-base superalloy before applying aluminum diffusion coating to the Ni-base superalloy, wherein the reaction control material is Co, Cr or Ru, or an alloy of which main component is selected from the group consisting of Co, Cr, and Ru; and (b) a step of applying the aluminum diffusion coating to the Ni-base superalloy.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a variable-throat exhaust turbocharger equipped with a variable-throat mechanism of which connection of constituent members can be achieved with a small number of man-hour and at low cost and which is stable in quality with firm connection of constituent members maintained under severe operating conditions. Among constituent members of the variable throat-area mechanism of the variable-throat exhaust turbocharger for varying the blade angle of a plurality of nozzle vanes supported rotatably by a members in a turbine casing, shaft members to be inserted and fixed in through-holes in a member with through-holes are produced by a method in which wear-resistant material is welded to form cladding of a certain thickness on the upper surface of a steel plate, said material being harder than the steel plate, and then crude shafts for forming drive pins are cut out from the clad plate.
Abstract:
A device (10) is made, having a ceramic thermal barrier coating layer (16) characterized by a microstructure having gaps (18) with a sintering inhibiting material (22) disposed on the columns (20) within the gaps (18). The sintering resistant material (22) is stable over the range of operating temperatures of the device (10), is not soluble with the underlying ceramic layer (16) and is applied by a process that is not an electron beam physical vapor deposition process. The sintering inhibiting material (22) has a morphology adapted to improve the functionality of the sintering inhibiting material (22), characterized as continuous, nodule, rivulet, grain, crack, flake and combinations thereof and being disposed within at least some of the vertical and horizontal gaps.
