Abstract: According to one embodiment, a backlight includes a light source, a light guide plate provided laterally to the light source to convert light from the light source into planar light, and multiple optical sheets provided in a laminated manner between the light guide plate and a liquid crystal panel. A liquid crystal display device includes a frame surrounding and holding the liquid crystal panel and the backlight. The frame includes fitted portions recessed in positions opposed to the optical sheets. The optical sheets each include protrusions provided on both sides close to the light source to be fitted into the respective fitted portions. The optical sheets each further include a stuck portion provided on the side near the light source and stuck to a double-sided adhesive tape.

Abstract: A backlight module comprises a back frame, a light guide plate disposed in the back frame, and elastic corner parts for locating the light guide plate. The elastic corner parts are disposed at diagonal corners of the backlight module and sandwiched between the back frame and the light guide plate. The elastic corner parts can locate the light guide plate in the back frame, and the desirable cushioning performance and appropriate hardness of the elastic corner parts provide a desirable space for thermal expansion and contraction of the light guide plate. Meanwhile, the elastic corner part corresponding to the light incident side is greater than that of the non-light-incident sides for ensuring the light mixing distance between the LEDs and the light incident side of the light guide plate, which can improve the light unitization factor of the LEDs and save both the product cost and the mold cost.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a back light module and a liquid crystal display (LCD) thereof. The back light module comprises a light guide plate, an optical sheet laid on the light transmission surface of the light guide plate, wherein the edge of the optical sheet is fixed to the light guide plate by a plurality of positioning structures. With application of the positioning structures, because the expansion coefficient of the optical sheet is not nearly to that of the frame but is close to the thermal expansion rate of the light guide plate, after the optical sheet is fixed to the light guide plate, the light guide plate is expanded along with the expansion of the optical sheet when subject to heating, and shrunk along with the shrinking of the optical sheet when the temperature drops. Thus, the optical sheet is not easy to warp due to the minimum performance change of the optical sheet and the light guide plate, and the temperature environment is also very similar because the optical sheet is near to the light guide plate. Therefore, as compared with the frame, the temperature of the optical sheet is more similar to that of the light guide plate, and the thermal expansion rate of the optical sheet is also similar to that of the light guide plate. Thereby, the warping of the optical sheet is further decreased.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to eliminate COG irregularities around a display area caused by distortion of a glass substrate generated when IC chips are connected by a COG method in a liquid crystal display device. A liquid crystal display panel configured using an opposed substrate and a TFT substrate and a backlight are accommodated using an upper frame and a lower frame. IC chips are connected to an end portion of the TFT substrate of the liquid crystal display panel via ACFs by the COG method. Protrusions formed at the upper frame are in contact with the both sides of each IC chip, and the distortion of the TFT substrate generated by the COG method is eliminated by the protrusions. The TFT substrate can be flattened by eliminating the distortion, and the COG irregularities around the display area can be suppressed.
