Abstract:
An ejector can obtain a sufficiently large suction air quantity without reducing the ultimate vacuum. A diffuser is disposed downstream of a nozzle to form a single Laval nozzle. A suction port is provided between the nozzle and the diffuser. The inlet of the diffuser is enlarged in width so that the side walls thereof extend approximately parallel to each other along the axis of the diffuser over a predetermined length. When air is caused to flow from an inlet closer to the nozzle toward an outlet by the engine intake negative pressure, the flow velocity at a throat portion reaches the sound velocity owing to the effect of the Laval nozzle. Consequently, a high negative pressure is generated at the suction port. The parallel portion formed by enlarging the inlet of the diffuser allows the suction air quantity to be increased without reducing the effect of the Laval nozzle.
Abstract:
A rotary assembly for traction drives, including a plurality of rolling elements having a rotation axis and traction contact surfaces around the rotation axis and associating with each other to transmit a motive power between the rolling elements via a traction oil film formed between the traction contact surfaces, in which at least one of the traction contact surfaces has a microstructure with irregularities which sizes are larger than a thickness of the traction oil film. The process for the traction contact surface is also disclosed.
Abstract:
In a toroidal continuously variable transmission, a link support structure of one of upper and lower links linking ends of trunnions includes a stationary portion fixed to a transmission casing. Also provided is an engagement portion formed at the link and in contact with the stationary portion. The engagement pair restricts a fore-and-aft movement of the link relative to the casing in a direction of a common rotation axis O1 of input and output disks. A freedom for the fore-and-aft movement of the link relative to the casing is relatively less than a freedom for a vertical movement of the link relative to the casing in a direction of the trunnion axis O2 and relatively less than a freedom for a left-and-right movement of the link relative to the casing in a direction normal to both the common rotation axis O1 and the trunnion axis O2.
Abstract:
The invention provides methods for the preparation of polyester block copolymers, by reacting crystalline aromatic polyesters with lactones and/or epoxides. By using a slight excess of lactone in the reaction, and a subsequent solid-phase polycondensation reaction, the method generates high-molecular weight block copolymers of low crystallinity. Methods are also provided for generating polyester block copolymers by melt-mixing or kneading polyester block copolymers with epoxides in the solid phase.
Abstract:
A resist composition contains a base resin, a photoacid generator, and a solvent. The photoacid generator is a sulfonium salt of formula (1). R1 is a monovalent cyclic or bridgedring C3-20, hydrocarbon group, R2 is hydroxyl, nitro, halogen, or a straight, branched or cyclic monovalent C1-15 hydrocarbon group which may contain O, N, S or halogen atom, K− is a non-nucleophilic counter ion, x is equal to 1 or 2, and y is an integer of 0-3. The resist composition is sensitive to ArF excimer laser light, has good sensitivity and resolution, and forms a thick film which is advantageous in etching.
Abstract:
An acrylic resin containing hexafluoroisopropanol units has high transmittance to VUV radiation. A resist composition using the resin as a base polymer has high transparency, substrate adhesion, alkali developability and acid-elimination capability and is suited for lithographic microprocessing.
Abstract:
Polymers of a fluorinated backbone having recurring units of formula (1) are novel: R1 is H, F, C1-20 alkyl or fluorinated C1-20 alkyl, R2 is F, C1-20 alkyl or fluorinated C1-20 alkyl, and R3 is C6-20 aryl which may have attached thereto a hydroxyl group and/or a hydroxyl group substituted with an OR4 group wherein R4 is an acid labile group. Using such polymers, resist compositions featuring transparency to excimer laser light and alkali solubility are obtained.
Abstract:
Styrene derivatives of formula (1) are novel wherein R1 is hydrogen, C1-20 alkyl, fluoro-substituted C1-20 alkyl, chloro, or trichloromethyl, R2 is a phenol protecting group, p, q and r are integers in the range of 0≦p
Abstract:
A pneumatic radial tire for airplanes comprises a toroidal carcass of at least two carcass plies, a tread rubber superimposed on the carcass, and a belt disposed between the carcass and the tread rubber, in which the belt is comprised of a plurality of radially inner belt plies and a plurality of radially outer belt plies, and each of the radially inner belt plies contains cords extending substantially zigzag at a cord angle A of 5.degree.-15.degree. with respect to the equatorial plane in the circumferential direction while axially being bent at both side ends of the ply, and each of the outer belt plies contains cords having a cord angle B larger than the cord angle A. In this tire, the occurrences of standing wave and cut peel off are prevented with the reduction of tire weight.
Abstract:
A method for producing streptovaricin by culturing a streptovaricin producing strain in the presence of a nonionic adsorbent. This procedure substantially increases the production efficiency of the streptovaricin. A second embodiment wherein the streptovaricin producing strain is produced in the presence of fumaric acid or its water soluble salts to provide improvements in production efficiency is also disclosed.
