Abstract: Electrical Tomography (ET) Images of an object can be generated based on features extracted during an excitation cycle. For example, a method described herein can include selecting, from a plurality of electrodes attached to the object, a first pair of electrodes. The method can include exciting the first pair of electrodes during a first excitation cycle. Additionally, the method can include generating an analog signal by performing measurements across remaining pairs of electrodes of the plurality of electrodes during the excitation cycle. The method can include generating the digital signal based on an analog to digital conversion of the analog signal. Further, the method can include extracting, during the excitation cycle, features based on the digital signal. The method can include generating an ET image associated with the object based on the features.

The power supply can be electrically coupled with a power converter (11, 80) and a control module.

Abstract: A method of forming an ophthalmic contact lens may include the steps of preparing a first resin mixture including HEMA, PEGDA and a photoinitiator, preparing a second resin mixture including HEMA, PEGDA, a photoinitiator, and a pH sensitive dye, forming a first layer of the contact lens using an additive manufacturing apparatus by dispensing and curing the first resin mixture, and forming a second layer of the contact lens onto the first layer using the additive manufacturing apparatus by dispensing and curing the dispensed second resin mixture onto an outer surface of the first layer. A ratio of HEMA to PEGDA is higher in the second resin mixture than the first resin mixture and a volume of photoinitiator in the second resin mixture is less than the is less than a volume of photoinitiator in the second resin mixture. An ophthalmic contact lens configured to treat CVD is also provided.

Abstract: A liquid desalination system is disclosed. The liquid desalination system includes a feed line having an inlet to receive liquid and an outlet to discharge the liquid. The liquid desalination system includes a magnet coupled to the feed line, the magnet to generate an oscillating magnetic field within the feed line and in opposition to the feed water flow. The removal of targeted ions can be achieved by manipulating the frequency and rate of the generated electromagnetic waves. The generated electromagnetic waves can be tuned to weaken the hydration bonds of that specific ion and facilitate its removal. The liquid desalination system generates an electric field across the feed line to enable the liquid to flow through the electric field. The electric field may attract sodium ions to a positive electrode and may attract chloride ions to a negative electrode, to desalinate the liquid in the feed line.

Abstract: This invention relates to methods and devices for detection of motion. Embodiments of the invention provide a method of detecting motion of an object using a wireless transceiver device, the method including the steps of: transmitting wireless signals from a transmitter element in the transceiver device, the signals being reflected by the object; receiving the signals reflected by the object in a receiver element in the transceiver device; estimating at least one channel characteristic from the reflected signals; applying a time and/or frequency domain analysis to the estimated channel characteristic; detecting any variation in the estimated channel characteristic over time; and detecting motion of the object based on the detected variation. A wireless transceiver device arranged to detect motion is also provided.

Abstract: Techniques for determining heart rate variability (HRV) and subject data polar images are described. The techniques include determining data of a subject over a period of time that includes time segments and generating HRV feature values from the HRV data. Each one of the time segments is associated with at least one of the HRV feature values. The techniques also include generating, based on the HRV feature values and the time segments, a polar representation of the HRV data and outputting the polar representation as an image. The techniques further include inputting subject data (e.g., demographic data and/or clinical data of a subject) and using them to generate a filled-in color coded image. The generated image can be used further in a deep learning model to predict a heart failure category and decide on time segments or regions within the image that contribute toward the decision.
