Abstract: A door structure is moveable to and from of a closed orientation covering a door opening and an open orientation exposing the door opening of a vehicle. The door structure has an inner door panel with an interior latch handle attachment area and an attenuation slot adjacent to the interior latch handle attachment area. The attenuation slot is defined between a first slot edge and a second slot edge. The interior latch handle is installed to the interior latch handle attachment area. A portion of the interior latch handle is located adjacent to the first slot edge of the attenuation slot. In response to an impact event proximate a central area of the door structure, the door structure and the interior latch handle attachment area deform such that the first slot edge and the interior latch handle move relative to the second slot edge of the attenuation slot.

Abstract: A releasable alignment clip secures a primary leaf spring to one or more secondary leaf springs of a suspension of a vehicle. The releasable alignment clip prevents separation of the primary leaf spring from the secondary leaf spring during normal operation while permitting relative sliding. The releasable alignment clip has a minimum separation force such that in response to a collision forcing a wheel forwardly, the releasable alignment clip deforms and permits separation of the primary leaf spring from the secondary leaf spring to avoid the primary leaf spring from breaking between the alignment clip and a point of attachment to the vehicle. The releasable alignment clip may have a reduced thickness, notches, or one or more perforations to achieve the minimum separation force.

Abstract: Intersection collision avoidance may use a cellular transceiver for a cellular network and a processor located at a cellular access point for multi-access edge computing. The processor includes a shared world model and a conflict detection module. The shared world model is configured to receive, by the cellular transceiver, signals relating to at least two road users in proximity to an intersection within a vehicle transportation network, wherein the at least two road users include an ego vehicle, and the signals conform to a standards-based communication protocol. The conflict detection module is configured to receive object information from the shared world model, determine a potential future collision between the ego vehicle and an other road user of the at least two road users, and transmit a notification of the potential future collision to the ego vehicle over the cellular network.

Abstract: A rear door assembly includes a motor having a shaft with a first gear attached thereto. A first end of a lever is rigidly fixed to the first shaft for rotation therewith proximate the first gear. A belt is engaged with the first gear. A rear door is pivotally supported to the vehicle and is movable between a door closed orientation and a door open orientation. The rear door has a gear assembly coupled to the lever. The rear door and the gear assembly are moved by the lever upon rotation of the lever by the motor. The gear assembly receives rotary motion from the belt such that angular displacement of the rear door caused by the rotary motion of the belt during movement between the closed orientation and the open orientation occurs at half the rate of the angular displacement of the lever.

Abstract: A vehicle driving behavior monitoring and warning system that includes a host vehicle having a communication device that receives operating information of remote vehicles that are located within a predetermined zone of interest, a warning device and an electronic controller. The electronic controller is connected to the communication device and the warning device. The electronic controller evaluates operating information received by the communication device and determine whether or not one of the remote vehicles is operating with questionable driving behavior and determines whether or not the remote vehicle poses a potential threat to the host vehicle. In response to determining that the remote vehicle is operating with questionable driving behavior and poses a potential threat to the host vehicle, the electronic controller operates the warning device warning the operator of the host vehicle of the remote vehicle.
