    Abstract: Electronic devices are disclosed that include a housing and a display coupled to the housing by an adhesive. The display includes an antenna component. The device includes a casing coupled to the display, a circuit board positioned within the housing, a wireless communication component coupled to the circuit board. The device includes a receptacle connector coupled to the housing and an electrical contact electrically coupled to the wireless communication component. The device further includes a plug connector that electrically connects the antenna component to the wireless communication component. The plug connector includes a first portion electrically coupled to the antenna component, positioned within the casing and translatable within the casing along a first axis orthogonal to a longitudinal axis of the first portion. The plug connector includes a second portion electrically coupled to the first portion, extending into the receptacle connector and contacting the electrical contact of the receptacle connector.

    Abstract: An electronic device having a pressure detection system is disclosed. The electronic device may include one or more elements designed to detect pressure exerted on the electronic device. In some embodiments, the electronic device includes a membrane and a detection mechanism, both of which bend in response to a pressure change at the membrane. The membrane may be electrically coupled with a circuit that detects the bending of the membrane and correlates the bending with a pressure change at the membrane. A can may be hermetically sealed with the membrane and surround the circuit to shield the circuit from liquid ingress. In some embodiments, a light transmitter and light receiver are used to detect the bending of the membrane. The light may reflect from the membrane at different angles, based upon a shape of the membrane, and contact the receiving element at different locations, corresponding to pressure change.

    Abstract: An elastomeric gasket is disclosed for use in a portable electronic device. The gasket encapsulates flexible circuits which are used to measure force exerted on a cover glass of the device. The gasket reduces the number of layers of material and thus reduces the risk that outside contaminants and liquids may penetrate the gasket layers and enter the portable electronic device and thereby damage the components of the device.

    Abstract: A wearable band may be coupled with an electronic device, and a user can secure the electronic device around a body part of the user with an attachment mechanism of the wearable band. The wearable band and/or the attachment mechanism can include an incremental adjustment mechanism. The attachment mechanism can produce an initial fit or tightness when the wearable band is secured around the body part of the user. The incremental adjustment mechanism can be used to incrementally adjust the initial fit of the wearable band on the body part. The incremental adjustment mechanism is configured to allow the user to adjust the fit or tightness of the wearable band around the body part more finely than the attachment mechanism.
