Abstract:
A quick connector (10) has a pair of waist segments (76 and 81), a shoulder segment (163), a body segment (72) with an aperture (156) therein, and a leg segment (78). The leg segment (78) is defined by a pair of projecting elements (163) which are at least partially compressible toward one another thereby causing the pair of waist segments (76 and 81) to move toward one another. Thus, a swivellable connection is made which has the equivalent length and diameter of a convention non-swivellable threaded coupling. The quick connector (10) may be released by hand or a snap ring tool inserted into holes (410).
Abstract:
A swivelable quick connect assembly for use with tubular conduits is disclosed as comprising a housing having an axial bore for receiving one end of the conduit, an elastomeric ring-like seat disposed in the bore for providing a fluid-tight seal between confronting portions of the conduit and the housing, an annular bushing disposed in the bore for positioning the seal and for guiding the one end of the conduit into nesting relationship with the bore, and a retainer detachably secured to the housing and cooperable with an annular projection on the conduit for securing the conduit in its operative position within the bore, the retainer having resilient deformable portions which are adapted to snap over the locking wall upon insertion of the conduit into the housing bore. An alternate embodiment of the present invention includes a metal retainer element that is of one pieced construction that includes at least two circumferentially spaced leg members which extend from an integral collar member at one end thereof.
Abstract:
A coupling for use with conduits (10) comprise a bi-conical fitting (20) which is inserted into the conduit end, a frusto-conical locking sleeve (22) which is located about the rearward end of the fitting (20) and compressed about the outer wall of the conduit (10).
Abstract:
The present invention hose assembly (10) having a distortion limiting wall for creating a dynamic seal comprises a seal (14), a male hose subassembly (12) and a female hose subassembly (16). The seal (14) is concentrically mounted within the female hose subassembly (16) against a radially flanged segment (92) and an extension segment (94) of a female ferrule (74) with a lip (46) of a male ferrule (22) compressing against the seal (14) when the female and male hose subassemblies (16 and 12) are connected together.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to corrugated protective sleeves (10) and for enclosing lengths of conducting equipment, such as cables, wiring and tubing, and more particularly to corrugated sleeves (10) and formed of a single piece of plastic. The corrugated protective sleeve includes an inner surface (14) and an outer surface (20) which is slit open to form male (36) and female (26) locking members which are adjoined once the conducting equipment has been inserted therein. Various methods for providing the locking areas as a part of the corrugated tubing are shown.
Abstract:
Connectable connector fittings for positioning on the terminal ends of flexible conduits include a first member positioned on the exterior surface of the terminal end of a conduit, a second member is positioned on the interior surface of the terminal end of the conduit, and a connector member coupled with either the first or second member. The first and second members are securely affixed by expanding the diameter of the second member outwardly against the first member to achieve a pressure fit whereby to provide a connectable connector fitting on the terminal end of the conduit.
Abstract:
A combination pill bottle cap and indicator device adapted to function as the closure or cover for a pill bottle or container. The device includes an indicator providing a visual indication for the user that a pill has been or should be removed from the bottle for consumption.
Abstract:
A variable shock absorbing compressional mounting apparatus. The apparatus includes a housing assembly having first and second housing portions, with the second housing portion being operable to move slidably partially inwardly and outwardly relative to the first housing portion, and a cylindrical, elongated elastomer member having a cylindrical, serpentine-shaped spring therein disposed coaxially within said housing assembly. The elongated elastomer member and elongated serpentine-shaped spring operate cooperatively to provide damping characteristics which vary with the compressional and tensional forces exerted on the elastomer member. When the apparatus is secured to two structures moving towards and away from each other in an oscillatory fashion with varying force, the apparatus operates to dampen the oscillatory motions of the structures in accordance with a first damping characteristic until a predetermined force is reached. At this point the elastomer member/serpentine spring combination provides a second damping characteristic which allows for less damping of the oscillating movements of the structures to which the apparatus is secured. The apparatus is particularly well-suited for such applications as mounting motors, engines and other like-vibration inducing structures to frame-like structures. The apparatus provides the further advantage of significantly attenuating vibrational noise normally otherwise transmitted to the frame-like member to which it is attached.

Also, a safety sleeve is disclosed comprising a body, a tab on the body for indicating whether or not the conduit has been detached from the housing, and a window in the body for indicating whether or not the conduit is properly secured in the housing. Further, a retainer element is disclosed comprising a collar, an orientation means on the collar and at least one or more deflectable bent configuration legs projecting from the collar for retaining the conduit in the retainer element and in the housing.
