Further, the medium has high physical strength and excellent wear resistance.
Abstract:
A magnetic recording medium is described, comprising a nonmagnetic support, a magnetic layer, and a nonmagnetic intermediate layer provided between the support and the magnetic layer, the nonmagnetic intermediate layer containing a radiation-polymerizable compound and finely divided particles, the nonmagnetic intermediate layer being polymerized by irradiation and having a surface roughness from about 0.001 to 0.02 .mu.m. This medium provides reduced gap loss between the medium and a magnetic head, and is suitable for use in high density recording.

The binder composition is cured by an electron beam and comprises a copolymer, a urethane resin and a compound having two or more acryloyl groups or methacryloyl groups. The copolymer may be a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-vinyl alcohol copolymer having a vinyl alcohol content of 1 to 15 wt % or a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-maleic acid copolymer having a maleic acid content of 1 to 10 wt %. The recording medium has excellent electromagnetic properties and the magnetic layer has excellent dynamic properties.
Abstract:
A method for the production of a magnetic recording medium is disclosed. The method involves coating a support base with a magnetic coating composition. The support base has a percent thermal shrinkage in the direction corresponding to the longitudinal direction of the support base of not more than 0.15%. The magnetic coating composition contains a compound having not less than two acrylate groups or methacrylate groups in the molecule and includes ferromagnetic fine powder dispersed therein. After coating the magnetic coating composition on the support base it is irradiated with an electron beam. The resulting medium has excellent electromagnetic properties, durability and improved tape skew characteristics. Further, the composition has good storage stability.
Abstract:
A case-hardening method for carbon steel useful in the cementation thereof by the solid powder method is provided which involves forming a powder mixture of titanium powder, chromium oxide powder and a catalyst which is a halogenated salt, embedding carbon steel in said powder mixture and subjecting the resultant mixture to a heat treatment to form thereby a carbide hardened layer composed mainly of titanium carbide.

A core member (2) of the disclosed reactor (Da) comprises a magnetic wire material and is arranged outside a plurality of coils (1). As the core member (2) in the reactor (Da) having this structure is a wire material and is arranged outside the plurality of coils (1), the core member (2) can be formed by the winding of the wire material, simplifying manufacturing.
Abstract:
A brain cooling apparatus is provided that can circulate a fluid between a containing unit of a brain cooling device and the brain cooling apparatus while maintaining an appropriate pressure of the fluid in the containing unit, and a brain cooling device suitable thereto also is provided. A control device circulates a physiological saline solution between a storage tank and a cuff by driving a first pump in a direction in which the physiological saline solution flows toward the cuff, and driving a second pump in a direction in which the physiological saline solution flows toward the storage tank. In this state, the control device adjusts the rotation speed of at least the second pump, so that the pressure of the physiological saline solution in the cuff becomes a preset target pressure.
Abstract:
A fluid level measurement system includes a fluid level sensor, a voltage application circuit, and a measurement circuit. The fluid level sensor includes a rotating member rotating depending on a fluid level, a supporting member for rotatably supporting the rotating member, and a variable resistor having a resistance depending on a rotation angle of the rotating member. The application circuit applies an AC voltage to the resistor. The measurement circuit measures the fluid level based on the resistance. A resistive portion of the resistor is held by the supporting member and extends around the rotation center of the rotating member. A movable portion of the resistor is held by the rotating member and has a contact surface made of mainly gold. When the rotating member rotates, the movable portion moves along the resistive portion with the contact surface in contact with the resistive portion.
Abstract:
A mechanism which can avoid, as much as possible, a difference of picture quality that is caused by restricting color printing according to an authority and forcedly performing monochromatic printing is provided. A mechanism which restricts the color printing according to the authority without deteriorating performance is also provided. The processing refers to a color restricting mode in user information or a color restricting mode in setting information. When the referred color restricting mode indicates “force”, if the user does not have the authority in which a color job can be printed, the job is forcedly converted into monochrome. In case of “analyze”, if the user does not have the authority in which a color job can be printed, the job is analyzed. If it is the color job, a forced monochromatic printing or print inhibition is performed.
