    Abstract: According to an aspect, a liquid crystal display device includes: a first substrate; a second substrate; a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates; pixels each including sub-pixels corresponding to different color areas; a first electrode in each sub-pixel; and a second electrode facing the first electrode. The first electrode includes an electrode base portion extending in a first direction; and a plurality of comb tooth portions extending in a second direction from the electrode base portion. A slit pitch of a sub-pixel in one color area and a slit pitch of a sub-pixel in the other color area of at least two color areas out of different color areas are different in size, each slit pitch corresponding to a gap between the comb tooth portions adjacent to each other.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal panel includes two substrates and a liquid crystal between the two substrates. A first substrate as one of the two substrates includes: a potential gradient forming section having an outer periphery edge having a circular shape; a first electrode provided on an inner periphery side of the potential gradient forming section; a second electrode provided on an outer periphery side of the potential gradient forming section and having a ring-like shape; a first transmission section provided with a potential; a second transmission section provided with another potential; a first contact coupling the first electrode and the first transmission section; and a second contact coupling the second electrode and the second transmission section. The potential gradient forming section is made of a conductor having an electrical resistance higher than those of the first and second electrodes. A plurality of the second contacts are provided for the second electrode.
