Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for collision handling for channel state information (CSI) reporting on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH). A method for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method generally includes receiving scheduling for at least one CSI reporting transmission and at least one uplink transmission in a same slot. The UE determines to multiplex the at least one CSI and the at least one uplink transmission in the slot or to drop the at least one CSI or the at least one uplink transmission in the slot. The UE transmits in the slot at least one of: the at least one CSI transmission or the at least one uplink transmission based on the determination.

In some aspects, a transmitter device may allocate data associated with a user equipment (UE), of two or more UEs, into at least one of a first part, a second part, or a combination thereof; multiplex the first part of the data associated with the UE with a first part of data associated with one or more other UEs, of the two or more UEs, to form multiplexed data; map the multiplexed data to a first set of layers; and map the second part of the data associated with the UE and a second part of the data associated with the one or more other UEs to a second set of layers. Abstract: The described techniques provide for the use of sub-band-specific reference signal precoding. A user equipment (UE) may apply multiple precoding matrices to a reference signal to generate a set of precoded reference signals and may transmit the precoded reference signals over respective sub-bands within a given reference signal resource set. In some cases, the UE may transmit a different set of precoded reference signals in each of multiple reference signal resource sets. Upon receiving the precoded reference signals, a base station may perform wideband channel estimation for each sub-band in the given reference signal resource set. The base station may compute an average spectral efficiency for each reference signal resource set and may transmit a report to the UE. The report may include one or more communication parameters for future communications between the UE and base station.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a configuration associated with a layer to reference signal port mapping. In some cases, the UE may identify, based at least in part on the configuration, that at least one layer of a set of layers for receiving a downlink transmission from the base station is adapted based on at least one interference layer. In some cases, the adapted layer may be mapped to one or more reference signal ports. The UE may receive the downlink transmission and may decode the downlink transmission based on identifying that the at least one layer is adapted and the layer to reference signal port mapping.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication. In one or more aspects, a user equipment (UE) is configured to transmit capability information of the UE for channel state information (CSI) reporting. The UE is further configured to receive, from a base station, configuration information for the CSI reporting. The configuration information indicates a CSI reference resource including a plurality of a first type of time units for CSI reference signal (CSI RS) monitoring, a CSI target resource including one or more of a second type of time units for which channel state information is to be estimated, or both. The CSI target resource is later in time as compared to the CSI reference resource. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In wireless systems supporting multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) transmissions, devices may implement beam-forming to improve reliability of communications. A user equipment (UE) may select a set of beams, and corresponding beam indices, for communication based on reference signals received from a base station. The UE may determine values corresponding to each of the beam indices using a scalable set of tables. For example, the UE may select a subset of the tables based on the number of selected beams, and may determine the values based on these tables. In this way, the UE may efficiently store sets of tables for multiple different configurations. The UE may sum the corresponding values to obtain a combination index value, and may transmit the combination index value to the base station. The base station may determine the selected beams based on this combination index value.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for the utilization of multiple partial bands used in the transmission of one or more channel state information (CSI) reference signals (CSI-RSs). The partial bands may be non-consecutive in the frequency domain, time domain, or a combination thereof and each of which may be precoder using a different precoder configuration. The time intervals, cycling granularity, and number of ports may vary between partial bands. Using RSs transmitted via the multiple partial bands, a user equipment (UE) may determine a channel state parameter for each partial band, which may be used for channel feedback.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for configuring transmission rank and/or precoder(s) to support uplink non-codebook based transmission are provided. One technique includes receiving sounding reference signal (SRS) resource(s) from a user equipment (UE), where each SRS resource is associated with one or more precoded ports. At least one of a transmission rank or a set of precoders is determined based on the SRS resource(s). An indication of at least one of the SRS resource(s) is signaled to the UE. The UE uses the indication of the at least one of the SRS resource(s) to send an uplink transmission.

Abstract: Wireless communication that includes transmission, reception, and configuration of a CSIRS with a configurable band-width is discussed. A base station/gNB may determine a number of antenna ports to be used for wireless communication. The base station/gNB may allocate a first plurality of frequency resources for the transmission of the CSIRS based on the determined number of antenna ports, and may transmit the CSIRS over the first plurality of frequency resources. A mobile device may receive the CSIRS over the first plurality of frequency resources and estimate at least one of channel quality and interference associated with the first plurality of frequency resources based on the received CSIRS.
