Abstract: Some techniques and apparatuses described herein provide bandwidth, coverage extension/repetition schemes, and synchronization signal burst set periodicities for low-cost UEs. For example, some techniques and apparatuses described herein provide particular repetition resources within a broadcast channel and/or synchronization signal block, particular repetition resources in consecutive slots, and/or the like. Furthermore, some techniques and apparatuses described herein define minimum bandwidths of low-cost UEs in relation to non-low-cost UEs, and define synchronization signal burst set periodicities that may be different for low-cost UEs than for non-low-cost UEs.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a base station may receive information identifying one or more antenna switching capabilities and one or more carrier switching capabilities for a user equipment (UE), wherein the UE is associated with a baseline carrier combination; and determine an antenna switching capability for a target carrier combination based at least in part on the one or more antenna switching capabilities or the one or more carrier switching capabilities, wherein the target carrier combination is different than the baseline carrier combination. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a first synchronization signal for synchronizing with a cell, the first synchronization signal transmitted at a first periodicity by a base station serving the cell. The UE may then receive, subsequent to the synchronizing, a second synchronization signal for resynchronizing with the cell. In some cases, the second synchronization signal may be transmitted by the base station according to a second periodicity that is different from the first periodicity. In some cases, the second synchronization signal may include a plurality of repetitions of a first sequence that is based at least in part on a cell identifier of the cell. The UE may communicate over the cell with the base station based at least in part on the resynchronizing.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable medium for SRS are provided. An example UE may receive an SRS configuration and a downlink transmission scheduling an uplink transmission, the uplink transmission being scheduled on a CC, the SRS configuration comprising one or more additional SRS symbols relative to a first set of SRS symbols associated with an aperiodic trigger Type 1 or a periodic trigger Type 0, the one or more additional SRS symbols being scheduled on a destination CC at least one of the one or more additional SRS symbols overlapping at least partially with the uplink transmission. The example UE may drop or delay transmission of at least a part of an SRS in the one or more additional SRS symbols on the destination CC or at least a part of the uplink transmission on the source CC.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a user equipment (UE) may receive a feedback configuration for providing feedback for downlink communications from a base station. Based on the feedback configuration, the UE may determine whether one or more feedback processes has a multicast-only configuration for multicast data communications, or a multicast-or-unicast configuration for either multicast data communications or unicast data communications. The UE may decode one or more transmissions associated with the one or more feedback processes based on the multicast-only or multicast-or-unicast configuration, and may determine a feedback codebook based on the multicast-only or multicast-or-unicast configuration of the one or more feedback processes. The UE may monitor for retransmissions of one or more multicast data communications based on the feedback process configuration.

Abstract: A low complexity user equipment (UE) may be in communication with another UE (e.g., with a premium UE or more capable UE) via a device-to-device communication link (e.g., via sidelink), and the low complexity UE may leverage the device-to-device link to improve (e.g., simplify, expedite, etc.) random access procedures performed by the low complexity UE. For example, a low complexity UE may request contention free random access (CFRA) resources via the device-to-device link with another UE. Another device (e.g., another UE in device-to-device communication with the low complexity UE) may receive the request from the low complexity UE and forward the request to the network (e.g., to a base station). The network may then configure CFRA resources for the low complexity UE. Upon receiving the CFRA configuration, the low complexity UE may perform a random access procedure (e.g., a CFRA procedure) with the network (e.g., with the base station) accordingly.

Abstract: Aspects include systems, methods, devices, and non-transitory processor readable storage mediums for managing a broadcast signal of an apparatus for wireless communication. Various aspects may enable an apparatus to send a message using either omnidirectional transmissions or beamformed transmission based on whether the altitude of the apparatus meets an altitude threshold. In some implementations and aspects, the processor of the apparatus may determine a type of the message and may select the altitude threshold based on the determined message type. In some implementations and aspects, the processor of the apparatus may send the message using beamformed transmissions in response to determining that the message is intended for reception by a certain type of second apparatus.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may apply a scaling factor to a transport block of a first size, where the scaling factor may increase the transport block from the first size to a second size. The base station may interleave a set of parts of the transport block of the second size across a set of transmission time intervals (TTIs) in accordance with a transport block allocation pattern, where the set of TTIs may be contiguous or separated from each other by one or more intervening intervals. The base station may transmit, to a user equipment, an indication of the transport block allocation pattern applied to the transport block of the second size, and may transmit the set of parts of the transport block of the second size across the set of TTIs in accordance with the transport block allocation pattern.
