Abstract: A display device having a photosensing function is provided. A display device having a biometric authentication function typified by fingerprint authentication is provided. A display device having both a touch panel function and a biometric authentication function is provided. The display device includes a first substrate, a light guide plate, a first light-emitting element, a second light-emitting element, and a light-receiving element. The first substrate and the light guide plate are provided to face each other. The first light-emitting element and the light-receiving element are provided between the first substrate and the light guide plate. The first light-emitting element has a function of emitting first light through the light guide plate. The second light-emitting element has a function of emitting second light to a side surface of the light guide plate. The light-receiving element has a function of receiving the second light and converting the second light into an electric signal. The first light includes visible light, and the second light includes infrared light.

Abstract: A display apparatus having a function of emitting visible light and infrared light and a light detection function is provided. The display apparatus includes a first light-emitting device, a second light-emitting device, and a light-receiving device in a display portion. The first light-emitting device emits both visible light and infrared light and the second light-emitting device emits visible light. The light-receiving device has a function of absorbing at least part of visible light and infrared light. The first light-emitting device includes a first pixel electrode, a first light-emitting layer, a second light-emitting layer, and a common electrode. The second light-emitting device includes a second pixel electrode, a third light-emitting layer, and the common electrode. The light-receiving device includes a third pixel electrode, an active layer, and the common electrode. The first light-emitting layer includes a light-emitting material emitting infrared light. The second light-emitting layer and the third light-emitting layer include light-emitting materials emitting visible light with different wavelengths. The active layer includes an organic compound.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device is provided, which includes a thin film transistor including an oxide semiconductor layer, a first electrode layer, a second electrode layer having an opening, a light-transmitting chromatic-color resin layer between the thin film transistor and the second electrode layer, and a liquid crystal layer. One of the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer is a pixel electrode layer which is electrically connected to the thin film transistor, and the other of the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer is a common electrode layer. Abstract: A peeling method at low cost with high mass productivity is provided. A resin layer having a thickness greater than or equal to 0.1 μm and less than or equal to 3 μm is formed over a formation substrate using a photosensitive and thermosetting material, a transistor including an oxide semiconductor in a channel formation region is formed over the resin layer, the resin layer is irradiated with light using a linear laser device, and the transistor and the formation substrate are separated from each other. A first region and a second region which is thinner than the first region or an opening can be formed in the resin layer. In the case of forming a conductive layer functioning as an external connection terminal or the like to overlap with the second region or the opening of the resin layer, the conductive layer is exposed.

A pixel of the display panel includes a first display element supplied with a first gray level signal and a second display element supplied with a second gray level signal.
