Abstract: An ergonomic and unobtrusive cardiac monitoring and treatment device for continuous wear includes a band configured to be worn about a thoracic region of a patient within a T1 thoracic vertebra region to a T12 thoracic vertebra region. The band includes a vertical span of between 1 to 15 centimeters along at least 50 percent of a length of the band and is configured to be immobilized relative to a skin surface of the thoracic region by exerting one or more compression forces. The device also includes electrodes and associated circuitry disposed about the band, one or more sensor ports for receiving one or more physiological sensors separate from ECG sensing electrodes, and a controller. The controller includes an ingress-protected housing and a processor configured to analyze ECG information of the patient, detect one or more treatable arrhythmias based on the ECG information, and cause delivery of electrotherapy.

Abstract: An apparatus for assisting in providing patient ventilations includes electrodes configured to provide airflow activities signals, chest compression sensors configured to provide chest displacement signals due to chest compressions, a processor and a memory configured to receive the airflow activities and chest displacement signals, identify a presence of chest compressions based on the chest displacement signals, subsequently confirm an absence of chest compressions applied to the patient based on the chest displacement signals, adjust signal processing parameters for the airflow activities signals in response to the confirmed absence of chest compressions, and process the airflow activities signals using the adjusted signal processing parameters to determine feedback for providing the patient ventilations in the absence of chest compressions, and an output device coupled to the processor and the memory and configured to provide the ventilation feedback.

Abstract: A system is provided for resuscitative therapy to a patient by delivering active chest compression decompressions. The system may include an ACD device configured to be coupled to the patient's chest and constructed for a rescuer to press and pull on the ACD device to administer active compression decompression therapy. Additionally, the ACD device may include at least one sensor for sensing at least one active compression decompression parameter, processing circuitry configured to process the at least one active compression decompression parameter and provide an output based on the at least one parameter, a first communication circuit configured to transfer data related to the processed output of the at least one parameter, and a second communication circuit capable of being removably coupled to either the electrode assembly or the ACD device.

Abstract: A patient management system for providing patient queues of patient reports to users includes communications circuitry configured to receive first physiological information from monitoring medical devices being worn by a first plurality of patients and receive second physiological information from therapeutic medical devices being worn by a second plurality of patients. Each of the monitoring medical devices is configured to sense one or more predetermined physiological parameters of its respective patient. Each of the therapeutic medical devices is configured to monitor its respective patient for a predetermined physiological condition and provide a treatment. The patient management system also includes at least one processor configured to prepare a plurality of monitoring patient reports, prepare a plurality of therapeutic patient reports, generate a patient queue based on the pluralities of monitoring and therapeutic patient reports, and provide the patient queue to an end user computing device via the communications circuitry.

Abstract: Respiratory distress apparatuses, systems and methods are described. An example respiratory distress management device includes a housing, and further has a mechanical ventilation apparatus and a controller within the housing. The controller may include a processor and a memory. The controller may be configured to determine whether, at a particular time, a fault mode condition exists. If a fault mode condition is determined not to exist, then the controller may be configured to enable control of the mechanical ventilation apparatus of the respiratory distress management device by a source in delivering mechanical ventilation to a patient, via signals received by the controller from the source. If a fault mode condition is determined to exist, then the controller may be configured to control the mechanical ventilation apparatus of the respiratory distress management device in delivering mechanical ventilation to the patient.
