Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for a dairy harvesting facility including valves and valve assemblies that prevent contaminants from reaching a central milk collection system.
Abstract:
An apparatus for making cheese including a whey conduit, a milk conduit, and a heat exchange device between the whey conduit and the milk conduit. Preferably, the heat exchange device includes a heat transfer circuit including a heat transfer conduit, heat transfer medium in the heat transfer conduit, a whey heat exchanger between the whey conduit and the heat transfer conduit, and a milk heat exchanger between the heat transfer conduit and the milk conduit. A thermal storage device can be in thermal contact with the heat exchange device to allow heat energy from the whey to be accumulated and stored for future use in heating incoming milk. The thermal storage device includes a thermal storage conduit, a thermal storage heat exchanger between the heat exchange device and the thermal storage conduit, thermal storage medium in the thermal storage conduit, and a thermal storage tank.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a flexible bag for storing raw milk where the flexible bag is for use in system comprising a cassette adapted to contain the flexible bag, where the flexible bag further comprises a spout, preferably with a screw top, and two or more perforations for fixing the flexible bag inside the cassette when the former is mounted in the cassette. Additionally, the invention relates to a cassette for use in a system comprising said cassette and the flexible bag, where the cassette comprises at least two sets of small pins, and at least two sets of cavities, where said cavities are adapted to receive said pins, and wherein said pins are constructed and placed such that they penetrate said perforations of said flexible bag, when said bag is placed inside said cassette. The invention also relates to a system comprising a cassette, a flexible bag and a heating tub adapted for holding a heating liquid, such as water, where the heating tub comprises a rack module for holding the cassette such that it is at least partly covered with said heating liquid.
Abstract:
A system and method for producing milk is disclosed in which animals present themselves for milking on a voluntary basis. The milk produced is handled and processed separately from milk and dairy products produced by conventional milking. Advantageous characteristics of the milk are retained and can be made available for the consumer. The production process may also be adapted to the voluntary milking facilities.
Abstract:
A robotic milking system includes a stall wherein dairy animals enter one at a time to be milked automatically. A holding tank receives successive measures of milk from successive dairy animals. Separation devices receive the successive measures of milk from the holding tank to separate components from the milk.
Abstract:
A discharging nozzle for foamed material, especially whipped cream, is kept at a predetermined temperature even when a refrigeration machine which cools the device holding or producing the whipped cream is temporarily not operating. Thus, the discharge nozzle is kept substantially at the same temperature as the reservoir holding the whipped cream or as the machine producing the whipped cream. For this purpose the discharge nozzle is mounted in a solid cooled housing in heat transfer communication with a hollow jacket. The hollow jacket in turn is connected in heat communication to the device holding or producing the whipped cream. The hollow jacket is filled with a liquid which stores cold produced by refrigerating of the device holding or producing the whipped cream. The storing of the cold is accomplished by a change in the physical state of the liquid. The cold is then released to the nozzle during times when refrigeration is interrupted.
Abstract:
A device for generating shearing forces in yogurt and other viscous liquids or gels being treated. The device uses a movable plate having openings that diverge at least over part of their length and at least in one axial direction. The diverging openings terminate at one end face of the plate to as to define a plate surface which consists entirely or substantially of intersecting lines formed by the ends of the diverging openings.
