Abstract:
A filter element for purifying a fluid at risk of freezing such as a urea-water solution for exhaust gas after treatment has an annular filter body and a support body surrounded by the filter body. The support body is made of an elastomer and is able to yield in a radial inward direction to compensate volume expansion when the fluid freezes.
Abstract:
An apparatus suitable for generating gaseous hydrocarbon fuel from a carbon based synthesis gas including a reaction chamber having a rotating shaft including a plurality of radial blades mixing and circulating carbon based synthesis gas and particulate catalyst upwardly generating gaseous hydrocarbon fuel, a stripping chamber located above the reaction chamber having a second axial rotating shaft including a plurality of radial blades driving hydrocarbon fuel radially outwardly, a source of hot stripping gas, an annular filter surrounding the stripping chamber and an annular gas collection chamber surrounding the filter. The blades in the stripping chamber are rotated independently at a greater velocity than the blades in the reaction chamber and the reaction is controlled by the temperature of the synthesis gas and the rotational velocity of the mixing blades in the reaction chamber.
Abstract:
A bypass valve having an adjustable flow resistance for a device through which a fluid medium flows. The valve includes a seat and a body which is biased closed, and which is movable in the opening direction by a fluid medium pressure difference between the inflow and the outflow side of the valve when the pressure difference exceeds a threshold. A bypass flow path connects the inflow side to the outflow side through the seat. The bypass valve includes a screen disposed in the bypass flow path. The valve body has two different open positions that depend on the fluid medium pressure difference. The entire cross-section of the bypass flow path is covered by the screen in a first valve body open position with a lower pressure difference, and a screen-free bypass flow path cross-section is exposed in a second valve body open position with a greater pressure difference.
Abstract:
A liquid filter with a filter housing (9) with a filter element (8, 108, 208) arranged within. Within the filter element (8, 108, 208) a standpipe (3, 103, 203) is arranged. This standpipe is sealing connected with the filter element, whereby in the connecting range between standpipe and filter element a sealing element (15, 115) is arranged for sealably closing a discharge hole (11) in the housing (9). The sealing element (15, 115) seals the discharge hole and also sealably separates a clean side from a contaminated fluid side by sealing between the standpipe and the filter housing.
Abstract:
A top load liquid filter assembly includes a filter lockout mechanism to ensure that the filter base and cover are not connectable unless there is a proper filter cartridge installed therein. The filter system can also include an automatic drain mechanism and a cartridge retention mechanism. One example embodiment further includes an air bleed vent. A filter cartridge usable in the topload liquid filter assembly includes first and second protrusions and cover-gripper members. Methods of use, installing, servicing, and retaining can be practiced.
Abstract:
Filter and replaceable filter leaf apparatus are provided. The filter includes a housing defining a cavity having fluid inlet and outlet ports and a lid member with a manifold coupled to the outlet port and being adapted to conduct a fluid flow between the outlet port and a plurality of attachment areas. Replaceable filter leafs are selectively movable through an opening into the housing cavity and attachable with the manifold at the plurality of attachment areas. The replaceable filter leafs include a filter envelope consisting of a filter panel, a nozzle member on the filter panel and defining a passageway adjacent an opening in the filter envelope for conducting fluids therethrough. The nozzle member is selectively attachable onto the manifold of the polishing filter apparatus at any one of the plurality of attachment areas.
Abstract:
A filter element for a pool or spa including a sintered plastic outer cylinder of a first diameter, a sintered plastic inner cylinder of a second diameter less than said first diameter; the inner cylinder being position coaxially with respect to the outer cylinder to define an annular interior chamber; and a selected granulated filter medium or combination of media residing in the annular interior chamber.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for supporting a screen. The apparatus may comprise a cylindrical screen for submerging in a fluid. The screen may have an inlet pipe for connecting to a piping system, filter members, a first end, a second end, and a support structure. The support structure may include one or more helical and/or straight bar members which traverse the screen.
Abstract:
To be able to achieve better compensation for length changes in a cylindrical filter element (100) having a cylindrical filter bellows (11) which is closed off at each of its end faces (1, 2) with an end disk (20), the filter bellows (11) which encloses a central tube (12) and an end disk (20) which serves as fixed bearing and is fixed relative to the central tube (12) or is connected with this is provided, as is a second end disk (20) is configured as movable bearing, with at least the second end disk (20) having an annular shape and being connected via an internal radial ring seal (22) to the central tube (12).
Abstract:
A fluid filter assembly with sight glass provides an upper housing carrying a transparent sight glass for visualizing the interior of the filter assembly and fluids passing therethrough. A sight glass retainer secures the sight glass within the upper housing. A screen filter is carried between the upper housing and a mating lower housing. A fluid inlet port is defined in the upper housing above the screen filter and a fluid output port is defined in the lower housing below the screen filter. The sight glass retainer carries plural fluid deflectors and plural sight glass supports for fluid dispersion and fluid cooling. A pressurized air input communicating with fluid inlet port allows pressurized air to be injected into the assembly to force fluids through the screen filter and out of the filter assembly. A low pressure drain valve and a bypass valve are carried in the lower housing.
