Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for providing asymmetric oscillations to a container. The container may include a fluid, a particle, and/or a gas. A vibration driver attached to the container provides asymmetric oscillations. A controller connected to the vibration driver controls an amplitude, frequency, and shape of the asymmetric oscillations. An amplifier amplifies the asymmetric oscillations in response to the controller. A sensor disposed on the vibration driver provides feedback to the controller.

Abstract: A system for evolving and dissolving a gas with a liquid can include a pressure vessel in which a liquid mixed with a gas is disposed, and a gas source coupled to the pressure vessel. The system can also include at least one regulating device that regulates a parameter within the pressure vessel. The system can further include at least one sensor that measures at least one parameter as a function of time, where the at least one parameter is associated with the gas within the pressure vessel. The system can also include a controller that controls the regulating device based on measurements of the at least one parameter taken by the at least one sensor, to evolve and dissolve the gas within the pressure vessel.

Abstract: A method of mixing a rubber composition includes a carbon introduction step and a uniform dispersion step. In the carbon introduction step, on the basis of a deviation between a rate of temperature increase of the rubber mixture (R) and a target value, at least one of a ram pressure (Pr) and a rotational speed (N) of the mixing rotor (2) is PID controlled so that the ultimate temperature of the rubber mixture (R) at the conclusion of the step is within a tolerance range. In the uniform dispersion step, the ram pressure (Pr) or the rotational speed (N) of the mixing rotor (2) is adjusted to reduce a deviation between a value based on successively detected data associated with a predetermined control target and a target value.

Abstract: A system includes a container platform configured to receive a container, a blade assembly and a blade actuator for rotating blades of the blade assembly, a blade platform, and a platform actuator for moving the blade platform between a blade engagement position and a container engagement position. A processor is configured to cause the platform actuator to move the blade platform, prior to a first actuation of the blade actuator, from the container engagement position to the blade engagement position, to cause the first actuation, to cause the platform actuator to move the blade platform towards the container engagement position, to cause the blade platform to return to the blade engagement position, to cause a second actuation of the blade actuator, and to cause the platform actuator to return the blade platform to the container engagement position subsequent to the second actuation.

Abstract: A system and method for tailings disposal is disclosed. A coarse tailings feed stream and a coarse tailings crusher for crushing the coarse tailings feed stream is provided. A crushed coarse tailings stream may be produced by the coarse tailings crusher, and a disposal stream comprising the crushed coarse tailings stream may be discarded as geotechnically stable waste product. The system and method may further provide a fine tailings stream and a thickener configured to thicken/dewater the fine tailings stream and produce a thickener underflow fine tailings stream. The system and method may provide a mixer configured to mix the thickener underflow fine tailings stream and the crushed coarse tailings stream to form a combined tailings disposal stream. Dewatering apparatus may also be provided.
