Abstract:
A sealing blade includes opposite elongated edges (30, 31) and between them a flat (32) and which is adaptable to a blade holder (17) arranged in a coating applicator (25) of a coating device (21) and into contact with a moving surface (11′). The sealing blade has a contact surface (33), which may be arranged against the moving surface and which is 5-15% of the width (W) of the sealing blade (10).
Abstract:
A device for saturating material with resin and subsequently laying the saturated material onto a surface includes a frame and a vessel for retaining the resin attached to the frame. The vessel has a slot sized and configured so that material is passable through the slot after being coated with resin retained in the vessel. A first guide member is positioned adjacent the slot and a second guide member is positioned adjacent the slot and is spaced apart from the first guide member to define a passageway between the first and second guide members. The passageway is sized and configured for the material to be passable through the passageway and out of the device for laying on the surface. Embodiments of the device can be usable for methods of waterproofing and/or roofing.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a doctor blade for the surface treatment of fibrous nonwoven webs, including a main body and a coating arranged on the surface of the main body, wherein the coating covers at least the part of the surface of the main body on which the doctor blade is provided for contact with the fibrous nonwoven web, and wherein the porosity of the coating is less on the first surface adjoining the main body than on the surface arranged opposite thereof.
Abstract:
An article comprising a roll of tape having a coating composition disposed on a first edge face is disclosed herein. A coating composition may be disposed on a second edge face that opposes the first edge face. The coating compositions may be cured. A method for edge coating the roll of tape is also disclosed herein, as well as a method for coating a plurality of articles having different dimensions.
Abstract:
A container labeling machine gluing apparatus which has a rotatable glue roller and a glue dispenser for dispensing glue onto the glue roller. The apparatus also has a glue thickness adjuster which adjusts the thickness of a glue layer on the glue roller. The glue thickness adjuster comprises a spring element and a glue contact element connected to the spring element, which spring element presses the glue contact element into contact with glue on the glue roller. The glue contact element is disposed upstream of remaining portions of its glue thickness adjuster in the direction of rotation of the glue roller.
Abstract:

Abstract:
The present invention comprises a crack and groove stain and paint tool and method of staining or painting a crack or groove with the crack and groove stain and paint tool comprising a handle, a flat blade attached to the handle and having a first face and a second face separated by an edge, and a backing fabric secured to the blade with the backing fabric having a stain or paint holding nap thereon with the backing fabric extending from the first face to the second face of the blade.
Abstract:
A cooling system and method for a paper coating device, especially for cooling a coating blade of the coating device and a coating color to be coated on paper web, whereby a streaking and/or bleeding phenomena caused by accumulation of the coating color at the end of the coating blade are effectively inhibited. The cooling system comprises a cooling means equipped at a back surface of the coating blade, interconnecting hoses for communicating coolant to the cooling means, a circulating unit, and a heat-exchanging unit.
Abstract:
An arrangement for doctoring a belt or a soft roll surfacing in a paper or board machine includes a doctor set in connection with a surface with a doctor blade fitted in it for doctoring the surface. The doctor blade is at least partly of a material, the hardness of which is essentially equal to or less than the hardness of the material of the surface, in order to prevent the doctor blade from cutting into the surface. The material is arranged to form a layer extending over the entire width of the doctor blade, and the thickness of which throughout is at least half of the thickness of the doctor blade. A support construction is arranged in the doctor blade, which together with the layer is arranged to form the doctor blade.
Abstract:
A coating blade for the application of coating color onto a travelling web, the blade having an edge section with a profile conformed to the surface of the web when in engagement therewith is provided. The coating blade is characterized by a sacrificial layer covering at least the edge section and protecting the underlying edge section during the web loading phase. The invention also relates to a method of preparing a coating blade by applying a film forming solution onto an edge section of the blade, and allowing the solution to dry so as to form a solid film.
