    Abstract: A fluid coupling includes various features. One feature is a disconnect tool that may expand a lock ring from engagement with a lock shoulder to permit the male half and female half to be separated. Another feature is to utilize geometry and structure whereby a leak would occur to indicate the condition of wear within the coupling while the coupling halves remain mechanically coupled. A further feature is to provide connection verification structure to assure that a complete connection of the male and female halves has been made. A still further feature is to provide an anti-rotational sleeve which would selectively prevent and permit relative rotation between the male half and the female half.

    Abstract: An anti-rotational pipe coupling system is disclosed having pipe segments with end surfaces in which receptacles are arranged at spaced intervals circumferentially around each pipe. Interference bodies in the form of elongated pins are received within the receptacles of one pipe segment and extend outwardly from the end surface to engage complementary receptacles in another pipe segment arranged in facing engagement. The pins bear against the pipe segment sidewalls within the receptacles to prevent relative rotation of the pipe segments about a longitudinal axis coaxial with them. The pipe segments are received within a tube which uses flexible splines engaging concentrically aligned grooves in the tube and the pipe segments to prevent relative axial movement between the segments.

    Abstract: Fittings of this invention generally comprise a body having a substantially hollow transport passage that extends between a body first end and a body second end. Each of the fitting body ends are adapted to accommodate attachment with respective fluid handling devices. The fitting includes a hexagonal outside surface portion for grasping and rotating the fitting. An interlocking attachment member is disposed along an outside surface of the fitting body and is adapted to form an interlocking attachment with a complementary member of a fluid handling device when the fitting is connected thereto. In an example embodiment, the interlocking attachment member comprises a plurality of rachet teeth that are configured to register with a complementary fluid handling device member. The fitting body first end includes a tongue that projects axially a distance therefrom that is sized and shaped to provide an interference fit within a groove disposed within a fluid handling device opening. The tongue-in-groove attachment provides a leak-tight seal between the fitting the fluid handling device.

    Abstract: A safety collar and tendon assembly (24) for joining a female connector (22) and a male connector (20), comprising a collar member (26) having at least one tab (30, 32) with a radially inwardly projecting leg (35) which extends into an annular recess (39) between the male connection (20) and the female connection (22) to prevent axial movement of the collar member (26) along the connection assembly (16) and thereby maintain engagement of collar (26) around a non-circular (hexagonal) surface (47) of the female connector (22).
