A portable information device includes a first display portion in which a parameter that defines a color for displaying an image is set, and a remote operation portion to display a remote operation screen on the first display portion and transmit a remote operation to an image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus includes an apparatus-side display control portion to display an operation screen on a second display portion, and a remote control portion to transmit a remote operation screen to the portable information device and execute a process in accordance with a remote operation. One of the portable information device and the image forming apparatus acquires a distance between the image forming apparatus and the portable information device and determines an update parameter based on the acquired distance. The remote operation portion updates the parameter set in the first display portion with the update parameter.

An information processing system comprising a communication terminal and an information processing device that allow communication therebetween. The communication terminal includes: a remote controlling part for acquiring an operation screen image, with which the user makes remote operation of the information processing device; and a cloud service connecting part for connecting to a service providing server providing a cloud service over a network, and acquiring a display screen image for using the cloud service from the service providing server in response to user's instruction, thereby causing the acquired display screen image to be displayed on the display part together with the operation screen image. The remote controlling part sends connecting information for connecting to the service providing server to the information processing device. The remote controlling part switches the display screen image displayed by the cloud service connecting part to the display screen image acquired by the information processing device.

The present invention is applicable to a peripheral device which performs processing based on information from an information processing device. The peripheral device of present invention is characterized by a storage unit, which stores in it a program of controlling of designated processing, and stores in it data for controlling the peripheral device, and by a communication unit which sends the program stored in the storage unit to the information processing device, and by a control unit which controls operation of the peripheral device based on an instruction information written into the storage unit upon execution of the program on the information processing device.

Methods, systems and processor-readable media for converting a mobile rendering job to a secure rendering job. A secure rendering module can be configured in association with a print path with respect to a mobile telecommunications device. A rendering job from the mobile telecommunications device configured with a mobile multifunction device user interface can be received by the secure rendering module. The document context (e.g., metadata) as well as the context of the MFD context (e.g., MFD location and activity) can be checked in order to determine a confidentiality of the rendering job. The rendering job can be securely transmitted to the MFD based on the confidentiality. An email notification with respect to the release of the secure rendering job can be sent to a user.

An electronic system is presented which includes a remote control device and a first electronic device. In one embodiment, the remote control device is configured to accept a user input signifying a command for a second electronic device, as well as generate the command for the second electronic device, and an indication of the command. In another embodiment, the remote control device is configured to accept a user input that causes a mode change of the remote control device, wherein the mode identifies one of a plurality of electronic devices that receive commands from the remote control device. The remote control device is also configured to transmit the command to the second electronic device, if applicable, and transmit the indication of the command or mode change to the first electronic device. The first electronic device is configured to receive and process the indication to alter operation of the first electronic device.

An image processing apparatus is configured to be capable of being remotely operated by a terminal device via a wireless communication line. The image processing apparatus is equipped with a body control unit, a LAN interface, and a body operation unit. The body operation unit is capable of displaying a plurality of operation keys and capable of receiving a touch operation with respect to each of the plurality of operation keys. The LAN interface is used in order to acquire a positional relationship between the terminal device and the image processing apparatus. The body control unit, when determining that the terminal device is located close to the image processing apparatus, disables a touch operation with respect to a specific operation key among the plurality of operation keys on the body operation unit.
