    Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an adhesive film that can be applied easily to an adherend having a three-dimensional shape. An adhesive film according to the present disclosure is an adhesive film having a three-dimensional molded shape and including: a base layer; an adhesive layer including a fine structure in a surface; and a liner layer covering the adhesive layer. The fine structure of the adhesive layer includes a plurality of convex parts. Each of the plurality of convex parts includes two or more parts joined to each other via an interface. A first part present in a top of the convex part includes a non-adhesive or weak adhesive material, and a second part present below the first part includes a strong adhesive material.

    Abstract: Polycarbonate polymers comprising non-aromatic cyclic groups bonded with carbonate linking groups are described. A portion of the non-aromatic cyclic groups comprise a substituent having siloxane repeat units. Representative formulas of the substituents having siloxane repeat units include —CH2—CH2—Si(R4)2—(OSi(R4)2—R5, and —CH[Si(R4)2—(OSi(R4)2)m—R5]—CH3; wherein m is the number of siloxane repeat units; and R4 and R5 are independently alkyl, aryl, aralkyl or aralkylene. The polycarbonate polymer C typically comprises a high concentration of carbonate linking group, for example in an amount of at least 85 or 90 mol % or greater N based on the total linking groups of the polymer. Also described are compositions comprising the polycarbonate polymer and methods of making.

    Abstract: A surface conditioning article comprises: a fabric backing having first and second opposed major sides: a lofty open nonwoven fiber web comprising entangled fibers disposed on and secured to the first major side of the fabric backing; and abrasive particles secured to the lofty open nonwoven fiber web by a binder material disposed on the first major side. At least some of the entangled fibers extend through the fabric backing from the first side to the second side. At least one raised feature comprising an organic polymer is disposed on a minor portion of the second major side of the fabric backing. The entangled fibers extending through the fabric backing have an average diameter and at least one raised feature has a height of at least 8 times the average diameter. A method of making the surface conditioning article is also disclosed.

    Abstract: Provided is a radiation sterilization resistant adhesive agent layer capable of reducing or preventing a decrease in wettability of an adhesive after radiation sterilization treatment. The adhesive can be used with a medical implement, for example medical implements that are sterilized. The adhesive agent layer includes a (meth)acrylic polymer and a wettability stabilizer, and the wettability stabilizer is at least one selected from a rosin ester resin, a terpene phenol resin, and hydrides thereof.

    Abstract: Projection systems and components thereof are described that are well suited to miniaturization. These systems and components may use one or more of the following features: a folded optical path, as in a reflective cavity or a beamsplitter; an illumination beam that is converging at the place where it impinges upon the spatial light modulator; a beamsplitter that uses opposed prisms of substantially different sizes; a beamsplitter whose obliquely disposed partial reflector defines a first rectangular reference space, and where at least a portion of the light source or at least a portion of the projector lens is disposed within such first rectangular reference space; a system in which a ratio of areas of the first rectangular reference space and a second rectangular reference space is within a specified range, where the second rectangular reference space is just large enough to encompass the optical components of the projector; a system in which the projector lens is small compared to the spatial light modulator.
