    Abstract: A system includes a processing circuit having a memory coupled to one or more processors, the memory storing instructions therein that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to: receive engine operational data, the engine operational data indicative of at least one engine operational condition; determine, based on the engine operational data, an estimated exhaust temperature; generate, based on the estimated exhaust temperature and a finite time horizon, a forecasted exhaust temperature; correct the forecasted exhaust temperature based on a downpipe model to generate a first inlet temperature profile corresponding to a first component of the exhaust aftertreatment system; and generate, based on the first inlet temperature profile, a second inlet temperature profile corresponding to a second component of the exhaust aftertreatment system.

    Abstract: A piston can include a skirt, a crown, and a cooling gallery. The skirt can have an upper body portion. The crown can be formed at the upper body portion. A wall can be formed underneath the crown so as to define a cooling gallery within the piston. The cooling gallery includes cooling gallery peripheral portion and a cooling gallery central portion. The cooling gallery can be configured to receive and to retain an amount of cooling fluid and to cause movement thereof within the cooling gallery between a cooling gallery peripheral portion and a cooling gallery central portion as the piston travels between top dead center and bottom dead center so as to cool both the piston outer region and the piston center region.

    Abstract: An expansion panel for installation against a battery cell in a battery assembly is disclosed. The expansion panel comprises two plates, wherein at least one plate is arranged to face the battery cell, and a spring layer between the two plates. The expansion panel may be able to provide pressure to the battery cell, while at the same time helping with cell cooling. The expansion panel may also provide a flame barrier, which may offer thermal runaway protection.
