Abstract: A neutralization/water separation device for an esterified product including: a neutralization tank in which a crude product mixture containing alcohol and an ester compound, a neutralizing agent, and water are put to produce a neutralized mixture; a water separation tank disposed below the neutralization tank to divide the neutralization mixture into a floating layer and an aqueous layer; a partition wall extending downward from a ceiling of the water separation tank to provide a lower passage in the water separation tank; and a transfer line that transfers the neutralized mixture from the neutralization tank to the water separation tank, where the water separation tank includes: a first water separation part into which the neutralized mixture is introduced from the neutralization tank through the transfer line; and a second water separation part into which the neutralized mixture is introduced from the first water separation part through the lower passage, where the first water separation part and the second water separation part are partitioned by the partition wall.

Abstract: Provided is a monohydric alcohol removal method in esterification, the method including a step of reacting a carbonyl-based compound having one or more functional groups selected from the group consisting of carboxyl, ester, and acid anhydride groups with a monohydric alcohol in an esterification reactor including a liquid phase outlet line connected to a liquid phase compartment in the reactor, and a step of separating in a gas-liquid separation column to remove the monohydric alcohol, wherein the inflow of a liquid phase stream into the gas-liquid separation column starts at the time point between 10% and 70% of the total time required for the gas-liquid separation. By controlling the time at which the liquid phase stream flows out to the liquid phase outlet line in the gas-liquid separation, the method can reduce the content of the low boiling point mixture containing the unreacted alcohol in the reactor to a desired level within a short time and thus can integrate direct esterification and trans-esterification into one process.

Abstract: The present application relates to a heat recovery apparatus and method, and according to the heat recovery apparatus and method of the present application, since the low-grade heat source of less than 100° C. discharged in industrial sites or various chemical processes, for example, processes for producing the petrochemical products may be used without being discarded to produce steam and the produced steam may be utilized in various processes, it is not only possible to reduce the amount of high temperature steam as the external heat source for use in a reactor or distillation column and to maximize the energy-saving efficiency, but also at least two refrigerant streams may be heat exchanged with the waste heat stream by dividing one refrigerant stream in a cascade method and circulating the resulting streams, and the pressure of the refrigerant stream flowing into the compressor can be adjusted relatively high compared to the heat recovery apparatus using the only one refrigerant stream, so that it is possible to reduce the amount of energy required for compression in the compressor.
