    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described to switch between waveform configurations based on an indicated modulation coding scheme (MCS) such that waveform switching may be signaled implicitly. A base station may configure a user equipment (UE) with a hybrid MCS table including MCS indexes associated with a first waveform configuration and MCS indexes associated with a second waveform configuration. The base station may schedule resources for an uplink transmission for the UE and may indicate an MCS index associated with the uplink transmission, using index from the MCS table. The UE may select a waveform configuration for the uplink transmission based on the MCS index. For example, the UE may compare the MCS index with a threshold MCS index of the hybrid MCS table and determine a waveform configuration associated with the MCS index based on whether the MCS index falls above or below the threshold.

    Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to resource partitioning for sidelink are provided. A first user equipment (UE) transmits, to a second UE, a time-division duplexing (TDD) configuration indicating a first set of resources time-multiplexed with a second set of resources in a sidelink resource pool, wherein the first set of resources is associated with a first link, and wherein the second set of resources is associated with a second link different from the first link. The first UE receives from the second UE over the first link, a first communication signal in a resource of the first set of resources. The first UE transmits, to the second UE over the second link, a second communication signal using a resource of the second set of resources.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A non-terrestrial network (NTN) device (e.g., a satellite, base station) may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), at a first frequency a synchronization signal block (SSB) that indicates a second frequency of a control resource set (CORESET) relative to the SSB, where the second frequency is based on one or more of: a CORESET bandwidth, a combination of a first parameter associated with a first portion of the SSB and a second parameter associated with a second portion of the SSB, or both. The UE may monitor the CORESET at the indicated second frequency for a downlink control channel transmission. The NTN device may transmit, to the UE, a downlink control channel transmission over the CORESET. The NTN device may transmit, to the UE, system information based on the downlink control channel transmission.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station and user equipment (UE) may use quasi co-located antenna ports for transmission and reception of synchronization and/or reference signals and positioning reference signals. For example, the base station may identify a quasi co-location relationship indicating that antenna ports of the base station used to transmit a synchronization signal are quasi co-located with antenna ports of the base station used to transmit a positioning reference signal. In some cases, the base station may transmit an indication of the quasi co-location relationship to the UE. Additionally, the UE may receive the synchronization signal and determine a receive beam for the UE to use to receive the positioning reference signal based at least in part on the received synchronization signal and the identified quasi co-location relationship. The UE may then receive a positioning reference signal using the determined receive beam.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive signaling indicating a configuration for communicating to the UE a random access response of a random access procedure. The configuration may indicate a first quantity of instances of control information associated with the random access response in a set of slots and a portion of the time window configured for the first quantity of instances. The UE may monitor the set of slots for instances of the control information and receive a second quantity of instances of the control information for the UE in a first subset of slots of the set of slots. The second quantity of instances may be less than the first quantity of instances. The UE may combine the instances of the control information from the first subset of slots and decode the random access response based on combining the instances.
