A wireless node may receive a first scheduling command identifying a first resource allocation via a first link, may determine a second resource allocation based at least in part on the first resource allocation and a resource allocation policy, may transmit a second scheduling command identifying the second resource allocation via a second link, and may communicate network traffic on the first link and the second link using the first resource allocation and the second resource allocation, respectively. Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can transmit a beam failure recovery request using contention-based physical random access channel (PRACH) resources to supplement and/or replace non-contention-based resources for transmitting the beam failure recovery request. The UE can reduce beam recovery latency by informing its intention for beam failure recovery by transmitting a beam failure recovery request during the random access channel (RACH) procedure. The base station may dedicate a set of RACH resources that can be used for both transmitting regular contention-based RACH messages and beam failure recovery request.

Abstract: An apparatus for wireless communication selects a recommendation for the need. The apparatus selects the resource to transmit a phase tracking reference signal based on a condition of a communication system. The apparatus performs at least one of transmitting an indication of the selected recommendation for the resource to a second wireless communication device or transmitting at least one of information or a reference signal to the second device to assist the second device in determining the resource. In an aspect, the selection may be made based on receiving a request for a recommendation from the second wireless communication device or the transmitting the at least one of the information or the reference signal are based on a request received.

For example, certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication by a user-equipment (UE). The method generally includes transmitting a first message comprising a RACH preamble, receiving a second message comprising random access response (RAR) in response to the RACH preamble, transmitting a third message in response to the RAR, receiving a fourth message (MSG4) comprising a contention resolution message in response to the third message. In certain aspects, the fourth message may include a timing advance (TA) parameter which may be used to communicate one or more messages.

Abstract: Various features related to using a multi-port synchronization signal as reference for demodulating a multi-port broadcast channel are described. In an aspect, a synchronization signal, e.g., SSS, may be repurposed to serve as a demodulation reference for a downlink channel, e.g., PBCH, thereby obviating the need for a base station to send an additional reference signal for PBCH demodulation. A base station may select two or more logical antenna ports to transmit a synchronization signal, transmit the synchronization signal from the selected two or more logical antenna ports, and transmit information on the PBCH, from at least the selected two or more logical antenna ports. A UE may receive the synchronization signal from the two or more logical antenna ports at the base station, receive information on the PBCH from the at least the two or more logical antenna ports, and demodulate the information based on the received synchronization signal.

Abstract: A UE may receive a beam modification command that indicates a set of transmit beam indexes corresponding to a set of transmit beams of a base station, and each transmit beam index of the set of transmit beam indexes may indicate at least a transmit direction for transmitting a transmit beam by the base station. The UE may determine a set of receive beam indexes corresponding to receive beams of the UE based on the set of transmit beam indexes, and each receive beam index of the set of receive beam indexes may indicate at least a receive direction for receiving a receive beam by the UE. The UE may receive, from the base station, a signal through at least one receive beam corresponding to at least one receive beam index included in the set of receive beam indexes.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may be configured to perform a random access channel (RACH) procedure with a base station. As part of the RACH procedure, the base station may transmit a contention resolution message to the UE. The UE may receive, from the base station, the contention resolution message. The contention resolution message may indicate at least a beam index corresponding to a beam, such as a transmit beam of the base station. The UE may determine whether the beam index is applicable to the UE. The UE may communicate with the base station through the beam corresponding to the beam index when the beam index is applicable to the UE. For example, the UE may send an acknowledgement message to the base station, and the base station and UE may switch to a beam corresponding to the beam index after communication of the acknowledgement message.
