Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may measure a beam, according to a measurement configuration, to determine a channel condition value of the beam, modify the channel condition value based at least in part on at least one of one or more beam characterizations, a derivation of a beamforming gain value, or an estimation of the beamforming gain value, and transmit, to a base station, a measurement report indicating the modified channel condition value. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described for measurement reporting in beamformed communications. A user equipment (UE) may establish a connection with a serving cell using one or more refined beams, and may measure one or more quality metrics of the serving cell using a wider beam than the refined beam, which may provide a uniform comparison with measured quality metrics of other cells using wider beams. Further, the UE may apply a time threshold to one or more quality metric measurements to exclude older measurements from a measurement report. A base station or serving cell may configure the UE to perform quality metric measurements and apply time thresholds for reporting measurements, which may be enabled or disabled based on one or more parameters.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to user equipment (UE) idle mode mobility in a wireless communication network are provided. A wireless communication device establishes a network session with a wireless communication network. The wireless communication device reselects a first cell for camping, wherein the first cell is associated with the wireless communication network. The wireless communication device monitors for first system information from the first cell. The wireless communication device reselects a second cell for camping in response to a failure to receive the first system information. The second cell is associated with the wireless communication network and different from the first cell. The wireless communication device maintains the network session during the reselecting the first cell for camping and the reselecting the second cell for camping.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An exemplary method includes receiving a signal corresponding to a frequency band, scanning for communications activity within the frequency band, wherein scanning for communications activity within the frequency band comprises performing a correlation calculation on samples of the signal, and determining whether to attempt a connection establishment within the frequency band based at least in part on the correlation calculation on samples of the signal. When the scanning identifies an indication of activity, a scanning device may attempt to establish a connection with a base station within the frequency band. When the scanning identifies an indication of no activity, a scanning device may refrain from attempting to establish a connection with a base station within the frequency band, and may perform the correlation-enhanced frequency scanning on a different frequency band.

Abstract: The disclosure generally relates to positioning techniques that can be used in a wireless communications network. For example, assistance data that includes predicted contents associated with messages that multiple neighboring nodes are configured to transmit at a synchronized time may be encoded and correlated with a signal received at one or more receive antennas on a user device. The correlation may be used to estimate a channel response from one or more transmit antennas at a current node that transmitted the signal to the one or more receive antennas on the user device, whereby an estimated time of arrival from the current node can be computed based at least in part on the estimated channel response.

Abstract: Examples described herein relate to enhancing data communication performance in a wireless communication network including a first subscription associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second subscription associated with a second RAT, where the wireless communication device uses a same radio frequency (RF) resource to communicate over both the first RAT and the second RAT. The first RAT is used, in part, for data operations while the second RAT is used, in part, for voice operations. During idle state voice operations, the RF resource is reallocated from performing data operations to performing idle state voice operations, causing interruptions in the data operations. The wireless communication device adjusts at least one or a duration and an occurrence of the idle state voice operations to reduce the impact on the data operations.

Abstract: Methods, systems, apparatuses, and devices are described for transmitting a measurement report during wireless communications. When, for example, a low-power period (e.g., CDRX OFF period) is scheduled to begin during a time defined by a measurement event timer (TTT timer), a UE may modify the low-power period. The low-power period may be modified based, at least in part on determining the low-power period of the UE will begin during a time defined by a measurement event timer, a duration of the measurement event timer, and a duration of the low-power period. Modifying the low-power period may include delaying the start of the low-power state until after transmission of the MR associated with the measurement event timer or skipping the low-power period altogether. The UE may transmit the MR based, at least in part, on the modification.
