Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards analyzing content, such as Timed Text data that separately accompanies program content, to detect a future program. When a future program is detected in the content, a tag or other data structure is generated with identifying information for the future program. The tag is stored and later used to schedule a recording for the future program. An electronic program guide may be analyzed based on the identifying information in the tag to determine if the future program has been added to the electronic program guide.

Abstract: Systems, devices and methods are provided to arbitrate network bandwidth that is shared between multiple video players executing concurrently on one or more client platforms that each have at least one video data stream supplied over a data network. An amount of bandwidth available from the data network is determined. An arbitration module calculates whether the selected video players can sustain a video playback quality above a pre-defined threshold using the determined amount of bandwidth available, and a modify playback message is sent to at least one video player when the video playback quality is not sustainable. Various implementations could prioritize bandwidth based upon the content presented so that high-bandwidth scenes (e.g., action sequences) receive more bandwidth than more static scenes.

Abstract: Described are systems, methods and computer program products for suggesting television programs to a user by, for example, analyzing closed caption or subtitle content of unwatched or unrecorded video content to determine if the video content is of interest to the user. The user may indicate one or more keywords for use in the analysis and the analysis may scan the text of the closed caption or subtitle content to identify matches to the keywords. Beside user input keywords, the keywords may also be determined through analysis of video content watched or recorded by the user to determine frequently encountered words. These frequently encountered words may automatically be used in matching the text of the closed caption or subtitle content. The users may also or alternatively select particular words of the frequently encountered words to use for matching.

The system includes the apparatus, wherein the set of streamlets comprises a plurality of streamlets having identical time indices and durations, and each streamlet of the set of streamlets having a unique bitrate, and wherein the encoding module comprises a master module configured to assign an encoding job to one of a plurality of host computing modules in response to an encoding job completion bid. A method includes receiving media content, segmenting the media content and generating a plurality of streamlets, and generating a set of streamlets.

Abstract: An approach for through-hole component soldering for a PCB, and a resulting PCB assembly, that eliminates protruding solder joints, is provided. The approach comprises back-drilling, from a bottom surface of a PCB, one or more through-holes, wherein each back-drilled through-hole is back-drilled to a depth partially through the PCB and at a diameter that is larger than the diameter of the through hole. Solder paste is applied to the PCB. The components are placed on the PCB, inserting each pin into a corresponding through-hole. The PCB is passed through a solder process, whereby, within each through-hole having a component pin inserted therein, the solder paste is wicked into the through-hole, and forms a solder joint with the respective pin. Each solder joint of a back-drilled through-hole is situated within the through-hole in a manner whereby the solder joint does not protrude beyond the bottom surface of the PCB.
