Abstract:
A ventilating or heating/cooling element having a first side having an air permeability of 15-800 m3/m2/h at 120 Pa. The first side is for directing an air flow toward a person. The ventilating/cooling/heating element may form or form part of a mattress, a duvet/blanket, a pillow, a sleeping bag, a seat, a clothes item or the like. A pump may be provided for providing air into the ventilating/cooling/heating element, or one or more openings may be provided for receiving air when a person is moving, such as when riding a motor cycle.
Abstract:
A pillow is provided herein which includes a cover having opposing first and second panels. A gusset perimetrically bounds, and joins, the first and second panels. The gusset is formed of an open cell construction. Compliant fill material is disposed within the cover. Advantageously, with the subject invention, a pillow is provided allowing for lateral ventilation between opposing panels. This permits a cooling effect while a user is resting or sleeping.
Abstract:
Particular infant support or nursing pillows are disclosed, for supporting an infant in a variety of settings by providing a stable surface upon which to rest. Various embodiments include a generally crescent shaped device, including a resilient fill material surrounded by a fabric shell and having a top and a bottom surface connected by a band of uniform width extending vertically and wholly about the perimeter of the pillow. The support pillow may be combined with an accessory device to form a support pillow assembly. An attachment mechanism may be configured to attach the accessory device to the support pillow such that the accessory device is arranged to direct a perceptible effect to at least one of the first arm, the second arm, and the medial region of the support pillow.
Abstract:
Methods and combinations for making and using one or more thermally conductive cellular foam layers comprising flexible cellular foam and metallic material particulates, and said thermally-conductive cellular foam layers may be located on, under, or in cushioning foams and mattresses or placed between on, under, within, or between other layering substrates to increase the overall cooling capability of the composite. The thermally conductive foam may be used in mattresses, pillows, bedding products, medical cushioning foams, and similar materials used in bedding environments.

Abstract:
This disclosure describes a synergistic pairing convective and conductive thermal regulating system and process that can include a convective thermal regulating device and a conductive thermal regulating device. The convective thermal regulating device can be configured to induce an artificial temperature change in the conductive thermal regulating device. For example, the convective thermal regulating device can heat or cool the ambient environment to elevate or reduce the temperature of the conductive thermal regulating device to a selected temperature range. The conductive thermal regulating device can initiate rapid heat transfer from a user into the conductive thermal regulating device to achieve and maintain optimal user comfort in a selected temperature range in the conductive thermal regulating device, and concurrently in a microclimate and/or microenvironment. Operation of the convective thermal regulating device can be controlled based on maintaining the selected temperature range, allowing for decreased utilization of the convective thermal regulating device.
Abstract:
A pillow includes an upper surface, a lower surface and side edges wherein the upper surface includes a raised edge proximate the upper and lower edges of the upper surface. The upper surface includes at least one cut out through the raised edge that is configured to support the user's neck in an anatomically correct position. A recessed surface in the upper surface for supporting the back surface of the user's neck and cranium and the sides of the user's head extends from proximate a left edge to proximate a right edge and is in communication with the at least one cut out. The pillow is of a sufficient height to extend from the user's neck to above the user's ears and face. The pillow includes internal armatures that are flexible and bendable such that the pillow can be manipulated into a selected configuration with manual force.
Abstract:
A pillow with improved air flow is provided. The pillow includes a including an upper face, a lower face, four peripheral sides, a first gusset section and a first vent. The first gusset section extends along at least a portion of one of the peripheral sides. Also, at least a portion of the first vent configured as part of the upper face. In another aspect of the present invention, the first vent is configured to be a part of the upper face, one of the peripheral sides adjacent the first gusset and the lower face.

A pillow includes an upper surface, a lower surface and side edges wherein the upper surface includes a raised edge proximate the upper and lower edges of the upper surface. The upper surface includes at least one cut out through either the raised edge proximate the upper or lower edge that is configured to support the user's neck in an anatomically correct position. The pillow includes at least one internal armature that is flexible and bendable such that the pillow can be manipulated into a selected configuration with manual force. The armature is sufficiently strong while being malleable such that the pillow can be configured from a substantially flat configuration and into a substantially “U” shape where left and right edges are in front of the user's face. In the “U” shaped configuration, the user can roll from side to side while the pillow remains in direct contact and rolls uniformly with the user's head maintaining support for both the neck and head and thereby provide a more comfortable rest or sleep.
Abstract:
A support cushion is provided that includes a core comprised of a first flexible foam and a second flexible foam. Both the first flexible foam and the second flexible foam include a reticulated cellular structure, with the first flexible foam having a density less than the second flexible foam. A sleeve is also included in the support cushion and encapsulates the core.
