Abstract:
A sampling port (10) has a generally tubular body (12) defined by a wall (18) arranged about an axis (42) which defines a space (21) for a sampling vial (72, 102). The wall (18) has a waisted region (60) intermediate a base (16) and an open end (20). The wall (18) is expandable radially in at least the waisted region (60) to accommodate different sized sampling vails (72, 102).
Abstract:
The integrated puncture needle adapter is equipped with: a puncture needle; a needle hub; a tubular fixing part for fixing the needle hub; a tubular puncture needle accommodating part provided on a distal side of the tubular fixing part and having therein an accommodating space for accommodating the puncture needle; a second connecting part provided on a distal side of the puncture needle accommodating part; and a separable part which is formed between the tubular fixing part and the puncture needle accommodating part. A part on the distal side of the separable part is separable from a part on the proximal side of the separable part. The puncture needle is exposed when separated.
Abstract:
A cartridge syringe has a housing with an opening for inserting the cartridge having a cylinder filled with a medication and closed at its ends by a piercing membrane and a stopper having a blind hole. A ram is provided for pressing the stopper for injecting the medication in the cylinder after piercing the membrane. The ram has an actuating element and can be attached in the blind hole of the stopper for aspiration. The ram has an outer sleeve with a core. The outer sleeve is displaceably guided in a rotatable manner and the core in a rotationally fixed manner. A front end of the outer sleeve is provided with at least one fixing hook which is spring-loaded inwardly A cam is engageable with the fixing hook such that, upon rotation of the outer sleeve, the fixing hook is movable either to the fixing position or to the unlocked position.
Abstract:
A transfer device for filing a fluid reservoir of a fluid infusion device with a fluid is provided. The transfer device comprises a first end to couple to a source of the fluid, and a second end to couple to a pressurizing device. The transfer device also comprises a body interconnecting the first end and the second end, and having an end to couple to the fluid reservoir. The body defining at least one fluid flow path between the source of the fluid, the pressurizing device and the fluid reservoir to enable the filling of the fluid reservoir with the fluid
Abstract:
A fluid transfer device comprising a housing and a flow controller at least partially slidably disposed in the housing, the flow controller comprising at least one fluid channel and a vent conduit. A shroud, alone or in combination with the fluid transfer device comprising a plurality of segments terminating in a annular edge and defining a plurality of openings, and a plurality of protrusions, each of the plurality of protrusions having a proximal end connected to the annular edge and a distal end positioned in one of the plurality of openings adapted for the housing of the fluid transfer device is provided.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a filling device of a fluid conducting system of an extracorporeal blood treatment device that includes a spike for connecting to the single fluid connector of a medical fluid container and a manually operable fluid blocking mechanism arranged directly downstream of the spike that fluidly connects with the spike while the filling device is in operation. The fluid blocking mechanism has at least one fluid outlet connector that is adapted so that a line section or hose of the fluid conducting system such as the arterial line section of a blood purification device can be connected to it in a detachable manner while the filling device is in operation.
Abstract:
A medicament transport system includes a syringe adapter assembly; and a vial adapter assembly including a base defining an opening having a seal member disposed therewithin, a stem extending from the base and defining a lumen therethrough and an opening through a wall thereof, a needle shuttle valve slidably disposed within the lumen of the stem and supporting a transfer needle and a vacuum needle; and a vacuum cup slidably supported on the stem, wherein a vacuum chamber is defined in the space between the base, the stem and the vacuum cup. The medicament transport system includes a condition where the transfer needle and the vacuum needles penetrate the seal member of the vial adapter assembly, and the vacuum cup is moved to draw a vacuum through the vacuum needle. An automation system is provided that utilizes a medicament transport system for forming a medicament solution from a liquid/non-liquid solution.
Abstract:
Medical devices including a vial adapter with an inline dry drug module for use with a vial, a needleless syringe and a carrier liquid for filling the needleless syringe with an injection solution for injection to a patient. The inline dry drug modules include a dry drug storage component for storing a dry drug dosage and a uniform carrier liquid distribution component for promoting uniform contact of the dry drug storage component by the carrier liquid to form an injection solution from the dry drug dosage. The inline dry drug modules can include a discrete dry drug storage component and a discrete uniform carrier liquid distribution component or a dual purpose component for both drug storage and uniform carrier liquid distribution. The vial adapters can be provided in vented or non-vented versions.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of the present invention are directed to transferring fluidic media from a vial to a reservoir. In various embodiments, fluidic media may be transferred from the vial to the reservoir by moving a housing portion to move a plunger head located in the reservoir to draw fluidic media from the vial to the reservoir. In other embodiments, fluidic media may be transferred from the vial to the reservoir while the reservoir is held by a holding unit and vibrated by a vibrator to remove air from the fluidic media. In some embodiments, fluidic media may be transferred from the vial to the reservoir by moving a handle operatively connected to a bias member for assisting with the transfer of fluidic media. In other embodiments, the transfer of fluidic media may be assisted by a bias member and a needle connecting atmosphere and the vial.
Abstract:
A method for forming an aseptic connection includes inserting an end of a sealed fill connector into a receptacle of an aseptic connector assembly; moving a pivot portion of the aseptic connector assembly relative to a body portion of the aseptic connector assembly so as to sever a portion of the fill connector, the pivot portion being at least partially disposed within the body portion; and advancing a conduit portion of the aseptic connector assembly into the fill connector so as to form an aseptic connection therebetween, the conduit portion being at least partially disposed within the pivot portion or the body portion of the aseptic connector assembly after advancing.
